This year's World Asthma Day theme is: Access to anti-inflammatory inhalers for everyone with asthma - still an urgent need.

Asthma is one of the most common chronic non-communicable diseases that affects over 260 million people. Asthma is responsible for more than 450,000 deaths each year worldwide. Most of these deaths are preventable.

This year’s World Asthma Day theme reinforces that every person with asthma, including most pre-school children with asthma, should receive inhaled corticosteroids. These inhalers reduce the person’s risk of asthma attacks and reduce preventable asthma deaths.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to educating the public about preventing, detecting, and treating the most common form of cancer in the U.S..

With more than 5 million cases diagnosed annually, we encourage you to seek the sun safely. Use SPF 30+ sunscreen, spend time in the shade, wear protective clothing including a wide-brimmed hat, wear UV-blocking sunglasses, and avoid tanning beds.

April is National Occupational Therapy Month!
An Occupational Therapist (OT) is a licensed healthcare professional who works with patients of all ages to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and working skills needed for an independent, productive life. They treat individuals with physical, mental, or developmental conditions, using personalized therapeutic activities and environmental adaptations to help them perform everyday tasks.

- OTs work with patients to improve skills needed for daily tasks like dressing, eating, grooming, and working.
- OTs recommend and teach the use of specialized equipment, such as wheelchairs, eating aids, or splints.
- OTs assess homes, schools, or workplaces to suggest modifications—such as ramps or adjusted lighting—that make daily life easier.
