Don’t forget: Your past does not define you. What people say about you, does not define you. Your family does not define you. Your hometown does not define you. How people perceive your worth, does not define you. Your appearance does not define you. Trauma you have experienced, does not define you. What people think, does not define you. You are NOT what you’ve done, you ARE what you have overcame.

The hardest thing to do is to see ourselves worthy in society. But the only eyes we should care to be seen worthy in, is God’s. Jesus’ self worth was never based on others opinions, but as his identity as the Son Of God. That is how we all should be: because we are children of God. We are and always will be seen as loved and valued children of God. Stop focusing on how the world see’a you, but strive everyday to become more like Christ.

Psalm 139:14

Just thought I’d share this incase anyone needed it.

Life gets easier. I know that’s hard to believe, and it may take a long time. But it’s so worth staying. I was in the ICU from an attempt 3/4 months ago. They told my parents they weren’t sure I would make it because of how bad the situation was. At the time, I was so mad I made it out alive. Some people are FIGHTING for their lives every second of every day: and I was upset that I woke up another day. My life probably
looked perfect from the outside, right? Well it wasn’t. I was so mentally drained that I thought I didn’t have any other options. But I know that i’m here for a reason now. Although it’s took so much from me and my family to get to this point, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m able to help people now, and share my testimony. Every day you wake up is a blessing. Quit dwelling on the past, because it’s apart of your story and you can’t change it. But you can wake up and be thankful you’re alive and try and make your life better. Nobody knew how bad I was struggling, or that I was even struggling at all. That’s how so many people are. Most people you talk to struggle, so be the person to help them. I have hurt many people during my problems, because I was hurting. But that honestly doesn’t make it okay. Those people didn’t deserve anything because of my problems. So take it from me, just try and live each day one step at a time, be thankful and kind.

Hello everyone!! I’m Addie McWhorter and i’m so glad you’re here.

I plan on sharing my struggles with mental health and everything that a teenager deals with in this crazy, beautiful world. I never had someone who was open about their struggles, and I wish I did. I hope with this page, i’m able to help anyone who is struggling. Living with depression is hard to come to terms with, but it does get easier to deal with. I have been at very low points, and I once begged God to take my life. But I can confidently say that i’m so glad i’m alive and things do get better. One day at a time with the help of God and my faith. At one point, I didn’t understand why God was putting me through so much. But now I understand it’s to help others, and i’m so glad now that I was called to do so.
