Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Screening Now Offered at Night & Gale Med Spa

After my dad’s recent diagnosis of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency, this topic has become personal for me—and it’s something we feel called to bring awareness to within our community.

AAT deficiency is a genetic condition that can quietly damage your lungs and liver over time, often going undetected until symptoms are severe. It’s one of the most underdiagnosed inherited conditions, and early detection can be life-changing.

Why should you get screened?

If you're living with unexplained shortness of breath, recurring respiratory infections, or liver issues, AAT deficiency might be a hidden factor.
Carriers and those with the condition may have no symptoms for years but are at higher risk for serious complications, especially with environmental exposures like smoking or certain chemicals.
