Leader Spotlight: Jennifer Houben, Vice President of Success
At North Shore Health, we’re proud to recognize leaders like Jenny Houben whose passion for caregiving and commitment to continuous improvement have made a lasting impact across our organization.
Jenny knew from the age of five that she wanted to become a nurse. She began her healthcare career 28 years ago as a CNA, driven by a deep desire to care for those who could no longer care for themselves. That passion set the foundation for a remarkable leadership journey in long-term care.
Throughout her career, Jenny has served in a variety of clinical and leadership roles including Floor Nurse, Nurse Manager, Director of Clinical Reimbursement, Infection Preventionist, Director of Nursing, Interim Executive Director, and Director of Quality Improvement. She joined North Shore Health in 2022 as a Director of Clinical Services, where she utilized her quality improvement expertise to strengthen foundational processes within her centers and improve clinical outcomes. In 2023, she was promoted to Vice President of Success.
Jenny’s leadership has been defined by a strong focus on process improvement, consistency, and proactive support. In 2022, she led her team right here at St. Francis Health Services to a deficiency-free survey, and in 2024 she became an AHCA National Silver Quality Award Examiner.
Her approach to leadership centers on growth—not perfection—with a belief that teams should strive to be better than they were the day before. That mindset has helped foster stronger teams, improved regulatory outcomes, and enhanced quality of care across the communities she serves.
