Continuing to celebrate Nurses Week with fun facts about our peds nurses:

Carley: Her hobbies are baking and landscaping. She has 7 sisters & 2 brothers. Her favorite thing about being a nurse is to watch our patients grow up. She enjoys loving on our patients and receiving love from them. Nursing reassures her that she is valuable.

Kala: Her hobbies are listening to music, gardening, & spending time with her family. She is certified to work with dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. She has been working as a memory care nurse (prn) since 2020 which she loves. She loves the fact the she puts a smile on someone’s face and those little arms that wrap around her neck when she works in peds.

More fun facts about our peds nurses:

Kala: Her favorite color is purple. Her favorite thing about being a nurse is she loves to take care of people. She knew as a little girl that she wanted to be a nurse. Her advice for new & future nurses is that majority of days you will find comfort knowing that you touched a life but there will also be days that someone will touch yours. Love what you do!

Carley: Her favorite color is pink. Her favorite thing about being a nurse is her grandmother always encourages me from childhood. Her grandmother was also a nurse. I genuinely enjoy helping others. Her advice for new & future nurses is if they feel burnt out or miserable, you are not in the right speciality. Try something new! She never thought she would work in pediatrics but she took a step out of her comfort zone & now she could never imagine working in amy other specialty.

Happy Nurses Week to Kala & Carley! These 2 girls go the extra mile EVERY DAY to love on our patients. As we celebrate them this week, we would like to share some personal information on each one every day. Hope you enjoy some some facts about our nurses!

Carley:

She is from Clinton. She is married to Ragan & has a 4 year old son (Bennett), a 2 year old daughter (Riley), 2 dogs(Lolli & Rosco). She has been a nurse for 6 years.

Kala:

She is from St. Francisville. She has two sons, Donovin (21) and Trey (17), a 5 year old daughter (Raelynn), cat, kitty, & a grand dog (Dolly). She has been a nurse for 12 years.
