MEET THE HERD: Luna

Rescued from a Kill Pen in Oklahoma: 2024
Original herd from Las Vegas, Nevada

Luna is a total love bug. She did not live in the wild, as her family was captured when Luna was young due to starvation. She was then rescued from a kill pen in Oklahoma. She is our newest rescue and is integrating well with the rest of the herd. She's a spunky yet calm horse. She loves people.

Luna is great at helping people feel present, grounded, and safe during sessions.

In late summer of 2025, Luna gave birth to a cute little c**t. Luna and Chance will be making appearances at Equine Therapy Sessions in the coming months.

I enjoyed spending time with the gentle horses and observing the way they interacted with myself and others in the group. It was a safe place to feel more at peace with myself and feel peace in my surroundings. STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Taylor

Meet Taylor: one of our Equine Specialists! She mentors the substance use disorder groups at HRH and will be our social media guru. Taylor comes to us with loads of experience and happy energy! 🌞💟😎

Taylor is from Southern California and grew up with a love for horses! After moving to Utah in 2021, she began working as an equine mentor by teaching basic horsemanship and how to 'gentle' Mustangs. Helping clients from different backgrounds build relationships with Mustangs was rewarding beyond description. ⭐️🥰🦄 She loves fostering an environment where clients can learn something new and surprise themselves with what they’re capable of.

Taylor adopted her own Mustang named Juniper, a bay mare out of the Palomino Buttes in Oregon. 🐴 💗Working with Juniper consistently creates opportunities for personal growth and healing. Taylor believes that horses can be companions, therapists, and so much more!

She also showed me that it may take one person to start the process to trust. Meet Chance 🦄 Pulled his mom from a kill pen in Sept and was pleasantly surprised when I learned she was pregnant when I rescued her. We took a chance on her and in life we gotta take chances while we can!! One life so live it!
