Have you ever considered the saying, "Get the Monkey off my Back?" It goes hand-in-hand with the "Elephant in the Room." I must have a thing for animals! Picture this: the elephant waltzes in, and before you know it, the monkey's doing acrobatics on your shoulders. Life happens, and when it does, we need our community! 🐘🙈

I used to love George Carlin. He had a tongue-in-cheek, sometimes literal view of life, and his take on the monkey in the room is no exception. Ever been working out so hard you feel like your heart's about to burst out of your chest? Same here! But then I check my heart rate monitor, and it's nowhere near as intense as I thought. That's why I'm a big fan of tracking tools – they keep it real!

A wise mentor once said, "What gets measured gets managed." It's all about knowing the difference between subjective and objective measurements. Relying only on how you feel can be misleading—our feelings can be all over the place! But numbers? They tell it like it is. You might never hit your goals if you just go by subjective information. Hi friends! 🎤✨ Guess what? As a proud member of the eWomenNetwork Premier and Elite Speaker programs, I've embarked on a wild journey to conquer my biggest fear: public speaking. 😱 Yup, speaking used to send chills down my spine, but I knew it was a mountain I had to climb. So, about two years ago, I dove headfirst into their Speakonomics competition.

Here's a glimpse of my first 50 seconds from a 3-minute talk. It wasn't flawless, but the real triumph was overcoming that fear and taking the stage. And you know what? I'm improving every day! Now, I'm a sought-after speaker on various virtual and live platforms. 🌟

I'm on a mission to shatter the cultural norms around aging. Sure, aging brings new adventures, but who says we have to stop doing what we love? Next month, I'll be 69, but guess what? I'm not calling myself "old" until I hit 90, maybe even 95! And when I get there, I'll push it to 110. Why not? Age is just a state of mind, right?

Plus, more tools than ever are in our longevity toolbox to help us stay vibrant and active. So, let's embrace every wrinkle and every gray hair with joy and a sense of humor. Remember, we're not getting older; we're just leveling up!

Does sugar make you feel like you're on cloud nine or crash down like a lead balloon?

Here's the scoop: sugar gives you a quick energy boost by spiking your blood sugar levels. It feels great for a moment, like a mini high-five to your brain. But watch out! This sweet sensation doesn't last long. Your blood sugar crashes just as quickly, leaving you tired, cranky, and craving another sugary fix. It's a rollercoaster you don't want to ride.

And remember the guilt trip that comes after overindulging. The American Heart Association recommends only 25 grams of sugar daily for women and 35 grams for men. Plus, if you're not moving or exercising, that sugar is more likely to be stored as fat, leading to weight gain and more mood swings.
