Please continue to monitor local weather conditions as additional rainfall is expected throughout the day. With more rain, water levels can rise quickly, and flooded roadways will become even more difficult to see during the evening hours.

🚨Texas Division of Emergency Management is conducting a Public Warning System Statewide Drill on Thursday, April 2, 2026, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.🚨

You may receive a text message on your phone, see alerts on local TV or radio, or hear sirens. This is only a test to ensure systems are ready for real emergencies.

If you hear or see an alert on April 2 between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., no action is needed. It is just a drill.

In the event of a disaster or emergency, please monitor local news outlets and social media for updates.

Around 1000 hours today, ESD 12 was dispatched on automatic aid to assist Guadalupe County and New Berlin VFD with a reported structure fire. ESD 12 responded with Engine 193, Tender 191, and BC 192.
Through coordinated efforts, crews initiated an interior attack while roof operations were simultaneously conducted. Thanks to strong teamwork and communication, the fire was successfully stopped.
This response highlights the importance of collaboration and mutual aid. When neighboring departments and counties work together toward a common mission, great things happen. Today’s incident is a strong example of how seamless cooperation ensures the best possible outcome for our communities.

⚠️ Gas Leak Notice

If you smell gas near FM 1518 & Abbott Rd, it’s due to a contractor hitting a gas line. There is no immediate danger. The gas company is on site and handling the situation. You may notice the odor through the evening while repairs are completed.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 8 PM today. Extreme fire danger exists due to dry conditions and strong, gusty winds.

⚠️ Take Immediate Action:
• No outdoor burning of any kind
• Avoid activities that create sparks (welding, grinding, mowing dry grass)
• Secure trailer chains and dispose of ci******es properly
• Report smoke or fire immediately to 911

Please be advised that there is a strong gas odor in the area. For your safety:
