🎃 Trunk or Treat 2025! 👻

Our firefighters had a great time participating in last night’s Trunk or Treat event on October 23rd! 🚒✨ It was a fun evening meeting our community, handing out candy, and showing the kiddos around the fire trucks.

We’re grateful for everyone who stopped by to say hello — seeing all the creative costumes and smiling faces made our night! 🧡

🚨 Attention: Fire Danger – Please Read Carefully 🚨

Please be extra cautious over the next several days, as conditions are extremely dry and expected to worsen.
According to the Texas A&M Forest Service Predictive Services, Bexar County is currently in the bullseye for fire potential. While wind speeds are expected to remain low, fuels on the ground are very dry, meaning even a small spark could lead to rapid fire spread with just a slight gust.

Here’s how you can help prevent wildfires:

No outdoor burning of any kind.

Check trailer chains to make sure they aren’t dragging and creating sparks.

Properly dispose of cigarette butts — do not throw them out your window.

Let’s all stay safe and do our part to prevent any unnecessary fire incidents during this critical time.

🚒🔥 Wildland Strike Team Training with SAPD Eagle 🔥🚁
This week, Bexar County ESD No. 12, along with several other ESDs from across Bexar County, participated in our quarterly Wildland Strike Team Training. These sessions are critical for ensuring our crews are ready to respond quickly and effectively during wildfire season.

A special thanks to our partners at SAPD Eagle, who joined us to provide aerial support training. During large-scale wildland fires, SAPD Eagle assists with aerial water drops, helping us protect lives and property from the air.

This training focused on:
✅ Coordinating ground and air operations
✅ Understanding what SAPD Eagle needs from us during active incidents
✅ Improving real-time communication
✅ Enhancing safety and effectiveness for everyone involved

Collaborative training like this ensures all agencies are aligned and mission-ready. We’re proud to work alongside our fellow departments and partners to serve the people of Bexar County.

This past Sunday, Cub Scout Pack 022 visited Fire Station 192 as part of earning achievements toward their prospective ranks. The scouts and their families—about 30 people in total—got a chance to learn more about fire safety, see our equipment up close, and spend time with our firefighters.

We are always proud to support our community’s youth and inspire the next generation of leaders. Thank you, Pack 022, for spending your day with us!

Today, our crews responded to a grass fire that started when a resident was burning trash and the fire spread out of their control. This is a strong reminder that open burning can still be dangerous - Even a small spark can quickly threaten homes, property, and lives.

We want to extend a big thank you to New Berlin VFD for their assistance on scene. Your support is greatly appreciated!

On a solemn day of remembrance, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to H-E-B for going above and beyond to support our first responders.

Your generous care packages were more than just supplies — they were a meaningful reminder that our community stands behind those who serve and protect us every day. From snacks and hydration to words of encouragement, every item was deeply appreciated.

In moments of reflection like these, it's the small acts of kindness that speak the loudest. Thank you, H-E-B, for being a true community partner and for honoring the memory of 9/11 in such a thoughtful way.
