Mackinac Straits Health System has received reports of patients and other members of the community receiving phone calls asking for personal health information. These calls may show on the caller ID as coming from one of our offices or clinics. However, these calls are NOT coming from us. This is referred to as a โ€œspoofing callโ€. These callers are using our numbers to contact you in an attempt to obtain your private information. We do not contact patients and ask for Medicare numbers or private information. We have notified local authorities and advise you not to give out private information from a caller you donโ€™t know.
