Most of us were never taught
how to listen to our body

We were taught how to override it

Ignore the hunger
Push through the exhaustion
Keep going even when something feels off

So control starts to feel normal

But control creates distance

The more disconnected we feel
the more we try to control

What if your body isn’t the problem
but the communication has just been missed

Waking up earlier
Starting over on Monday
Pushing yourself to stay consistent

And maybe it works…
for a little while

But eventually something in you resists

Not because you’re lazy

But because something in you
doesn’t feel safe being forced

So you fall off
and tell yourself you need more discipline

But what if that’s not the problem

What if the real shift is learning
how to relate to yourself
in a way your system can actually stay with

How you eat
How you rest
How you move
How you cope
How you speak to yourself
How you listen (or don’t)

It all points back to one place.
Your relationship with you.

And that relationship…
can change
not through force
but through awareness
one moment at a time.

So when change feels hard…
it’s not always lack of discipline

Sometimes it’s misalignment

So does grief
Anxiety
Anger

Suppression doesn’t remove it.

It redirects it
Into digestion
sleep
energy
immune function

Your body keeps the conversation going…
even when your mind avoids it.

Healing isn’t just physical.

It’s emotional honesty.

You can’t out-supplement an unprocessed emotion.
At some point, the body asks to be included in the truth.

This is how many of us were taught.

So movement becomes…
obligation
pressure
something to avoid

But what if movement was…
how your body releases stress
reconnects and
feels alive again?

But when you stop…
your mind speeds up
your body feels restless
you reach for your phone
or something to do.

Why?

Because rest isn’t just physical.

It challenges who you think you are.

If you’re not producing…
who are you?

Real rest asks a deeper question.

Can you exist… without proving?

Burnout isn’t always about doing too much.

Sometimes it’s about not knowing how to be… without doing.
