Let's kick of January and 2026 by celebrating our Employee of the Month, Allison! πŸŽ‰

"Allison is my Executive Assistant, a role that requires juggling multiple priorities at once, and she does it exceptionally well," shared Steve Vernon, Chief Executive Officer. "She consistently gets things done timely and accurately. If you need something accomplished around here, you can always count on Allison to make it happen."

Allison supports every department within our facility and is truly a team player. From leading patient visitation, files, on the units during short staffing, to supporting Medical Records when a team member was out, to even picking up shifts as a Behavioral Health Technician when needed, Allison continuously goes above and beyond.

Barb, Chief of Nursing, also shared her appreciation for Allison, noting she is a true team player - flexible, accommodating, kind, friendly, passionate about her work, organized, creative, helpful, willing, hardworking and amazing to work with. "She is pulled in many directions, yet remains incredibly organized," Steve added. "Her commitment and work ethic do not go unnoticed."

Thank you, Allison, for everything you do to support our patients, staff and hospital every single day. Your dedication makes a meaningful difference and this recognition is well deserved. Congratulations!

We asked Abby, one of our Outpatient Social Workers, for her tips on managing stress during the holidays, and her advice is a helpful reminder for all of us.

"As we embrace the holiday season, it's essential to maintain healthy boundaries with ourselves and our loved ones. Holiday burnout can lead to increased stress and negatively impact our emotional well-being and relationships. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup. Prioritize self-care and set clear boundaries to prevent burnout and support your emotional health."

Give yourself permission to slow down this week, say no when needed, and take care of yourself. You deserve it! πŸ’™ ✨

These next couple of days can feel especially stressful for some. Here's your stress tip of the week from Luke, our Chaplain.

❄️ It's okay to simplify. The holidays come with a lot of things we think we "should" do. It's okay to keep things small and simple. It's okay to say no without feeling guilty.
❄️ Protect your time. Take small, intentional moments of peace and quiet without multitasking. Short walks and a comforting cup of something warm can go a long way.
❄️ Set boundaries early. You don't have to feel pressured to attend every event or accommodate every request. "I'd love to, but I can't commit to that right now" is a complete sentence.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, communicate your needs to someone you trust. It's okay to say, "I'm struggling a bit this season." Opening up can relieve pressure and invite support you didn't even know was available.
