St. Johns Public Schools are closed today, December 10th, but Adventure Club and Little Wings are still openIf your child will be attending, please not that you will have to provide your own lunch today as food service will not be available. Adventure Club will be open at Oakview only.If your child will be attending today, please let me know as soon as possible along with the expected arrival time so that I can plan for staffing. thank you and stay safe

This is something that I think gets misunderstood too often. Child-led does not mean that the children get to call all the shots and we just run behind them picking up the pieces. Children need boundaries, they need guidance, they need adults that will help them learn what is safe and socially acceptable.

I once had someone tell me that if a child wants to “read” a book upside down, it was my job to let them. I counter that with, it is my job to encourage the child to devel their passion for books while also teaching them the proper way to read a book.

Adventure Club families: If you child is attending tomorrow, please make sure you go to Launch's website and complete the waiver. The link is attached here. If you child has a blue t-shirt from year's past, please remember to have them wear it tomorrow. If you child does not have one, we will have some to provide. Unfortunately the t-shirt order has been delayed, so if your child has any sort of blue t-shirt they could wear, please have them do that tomorrow. Hopefully t-shirts will be in before next week's field trip. Our plan is to leave by 8:15 and be back at Oakview by noon. See you tomorrow!
