A burn ban remains in effect for the Town of St. Johnsbury, and for all of Vermont. With the ongoing dry conditions and significant light fuels from fallen leaves, the fire danger is very high. The NWS has issued a statement concerning the weather forecast for the next two days featuring low relative humidity and southerly winds conducive to rapid fire spread making fire containment difficult. Please observe the burn ban and report any fire to 911 immediately.

Effective immediately, there will be a townwide burn ban for the Town of St. Johnsbury. Persistent dry conditions coupled with dry falling leaves create a high risk for rapid fire spread. In addition, the weather forecast for tomorrow anticipates low relative humidity, and gusty winds. It is likely this burn ban will remain in effect for several days if not longer until a meaningful amount of rain falls.
