In light of recent events, we want to acknowledge the fear, pain, and uncertainty many of us are feeling right now.
The recent incident involving Captain Gray and the St. Johnsbury police department has left many of us feeling shaken and worried about the safety and well-being of our community. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragic event, especially the officer, his family, local and surrounding law enforcement, and first responders who continue to put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe.
We want to take a moment to express our deep appreciation for all the first responders who serve our community with courage and dedication. Your work does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for your sacrifices.
While we face difficult times marked by increased crime, substance use, and violence, it’s more important than ever that we support one another. Fear and uncertainty can make us feel isolated, but by standing together as a community, we can help one another heal, stay strong, and navigate these challenges. We encourage you to reach out if you're struggling, and to offer kindness and compassion to those around you. Now, more than ever, we must show the strength that comes from unity and mutual support.
Together, we can create a safer, more resilient community for everyone. Let’s stand strong, support each other, and move forward with hope.
