Today our teams are wearing blue to underscore our commitment to Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and the clinical importance of early detection.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths, but it’s also one of the most preventable through early screening. We’re sporting our blue today to spark a conversation, support those currently in the fight, and honor those we’ve lost.

A great day for Essex County! As part of Governor Phil Scott's Capitol for a Day, we welcomed Secretary Jenney Samuelson and the Vermont Agency of Human Services leadership to our Concord and Island Pond clinics.

It was a meaningful opportunity to showcase our teams' dedication and discuss the vital role of rural health systems. We were proud to highlight how our services provide a complete circle of care—spanning from our primary and dental clinics to the essential home health services that support our neighbors and the partnerships that keep our rural communities strong.

We are grateful to Secretary Samuelson and her team for their commitment to sustaining strong rural health systems.

Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) joined local health care providers and community leaders at NVRH on Wednesday to discuss the importance of community-based pharmacies, and celebrate $1.4 million in federal funding that Welch secured to increase pharmacy access in Caledonia County.

Attending the meeting with Welch were Northern Counties CEO Chris Towne; NVRH CEO Shawn Tester; retiring Executive Director of the Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging Meg Burmeister and new Executive Director Darryl Washington; and Barb Byrne, Clinical Care Coordinator at NVRH Corner Medical.

The Healthy Hearts Support Group is designed for people living with heart conditions who want to share experiences, learn more about their condition, and connect with others on a similar journey. Light refreshments and heart-healthy snacks are provided!
