On August 8, 2025, I did a first in my life. I delivered memory bears that had been crafted by hospice volunteers made from Mrs. Holmes' clothing. I had never met Mr. Holmes or his wife, Nancy, but I know what the family was experiencing and happy to offer bereavement support.

Help us welcome two new nurse practitioners to Mosaic Life Care — Darci Feiden, APRN and Valerie Watts, APRN.
“The best environment to work with a patient is one in which they feel comfortable," says Darci. "It is truly about finding out who my patients are and meeting them where they are.”
“Everybody comes from different walks in life and that to me is so precious,” says Valerie. “Being able to learn something about each patient helps me to care for them with an open mind and open heart.”
🎉We are proud to announce that our center has achieved QOPI® recertification!

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to two new providers here at Mosaic Cancer Care. We are excited to announce that André Arsenault, MD and Miranda Akers, APRN have joined our medical oncology team!
Dr. André Arsenault
" I'm originally from Nova Scotia Canada but I have been living in Kansas City for about 15 years. I completed the last two years of medical school training as a visiting student at St Luke's Plaza and afterwards I stayed and completed residency at UMKC. Some of you may know from my years as a Hospitalist here at Mosaic. I worked both as a general Hospitalist but also as the Hospitalist for the Oncology Department. I found that out of all the types of patients I took care of cancer patients were the most appreciative. That mentality also permeated throughout the medical and nursing staff of Oncology as well. I think when you take care of patients that truly understand mortality it provides you with a certain perspective on life. I would say those experiences are what led to my decision to go back into training and specialize in Hematology & Oncology. I came back to Mosaic because I knew the people here were so great to work with and also as an organization it's a really good size. Not too big, not too small. I think in many ways we punch above our own weight class and deliver certain care/treatments that some larger centers don't have access to. You have all the resources you need to treat interesting and challenging cases; people can stay here and get their care in their own community and it's not so big that you get lost in the mix."
Mirand Akers, APRN
"I joined Mosaic Oncology group because of their strong commitment to prioritizing patients and the care they receive, which aligns with my own approach as a provider. I was also drawn to the opportunity to be part of a world-class organization where everyone has been exceptionally welcoming.'

National Patient Advocate's Day was last week, and we want to recognize another group of caregivers at Mosaic Cancer Care. Our Oncology Financial Navigators, Amanda, Mindy and Sara, may work behind the scenes but they play a vital role in our clinic.
This group of ladies obtain prior authorizations for radiation and chemotherapy treatments for our cancer patients, as well as assist them in navigating the financial complexities of their treatment by evaluating their financial situation, helping patients understand their insurance coverage, and connecting them with financial assistance programs and resources to reduce financial burdens and ensure access to care.
Mosaic Cancer Care could not do it without this group of ladies that help make up our TEAM here. A huge thank you to the three of them for all they do!
