We're proud to highlight the incredible work at Lory's Place. Their mission is to provide hope and strength for every grieving person, and their vision is to offer essential grief support to children, adults and families in Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana.

They provide a safe space for healing after the death of a loved one through peer support groups, community outreach programs and crisis response. Lory's Place is a vital resource for our community, and we are honored to support its efforts.

Honoring Service, Preserving Legacy 🇺🇸

For over a century, the American Legion has shaped communities through unwavering support for veterans, mentorship for youth and a steadfast commitment to patriotism and national pride. Their work echoes through generations, creating spaces of belonging, advocacy and purpose for those who served and those they continue to inspire.

At Starks Family Funeral Homes, we are honored to stand beside our local American Legion Posts by offering Dignified Flag Retirements, a powerful tradition that pays respect to our nation’s symbol and the veterans who defended it. Worn, aged or torn American flags are cremated with care at our facility in partnership with the Legion.
Families of veterans may also request that their loved one be draped in a retired flag at the time of cremation, an enduring gesture of respect and remembrance.

📍Bring your flags to any of our chapel locations. We’ll ensure they are honored with the dignity they deserve.
