🎉 Congratulations to Kevin Hahn! 🎉

We are excited to celebrate Kevin Hahn, a fourth-year medical student at ATSU–Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, on the successful completion of his second year in the AHEC Scholars Program! Kevin completed this milestone while rotating at Mosaic Life Care through Northwest Missouri AHEC.

Kevin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and has roots from the Kansas City region. We are incredibly proud of his dedication to medical education and service, and we applaud his commitment to learning and growth in rural healthcare settings.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s Blood Typing and Clinical Decision‑Making Workshop. 🩸

Students had the opportunity to explore their own blood type, examine blood smears under the microscope, and discuss how lab values guide clinical decisions.

🔬A special thank‑you to the UMKC STJ Anatomy Club for hosting this valuable learning experience for our students.

The NWMO AHEC team, alongside University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine–St. Joseph medical student Lauren Corbin, met with key legislators today to advocate for sustained support in healthcare workforce development. We emphasized the need in continuing to strengthen rural training pathways and support programs that address healthcare shortages across Northwest Missouri.
Building and retaining a strong rural healthcare workforce requires intentional policy support and continued collaboration. We are committed to ensuring our communities have access to the care they deserve.
