AHEC Works: Join our national advocacy campaign to protect the nation’s healthcare workforce!
The U.S. is facing a worsening healthcare workforce crisis. Here’s how AHEC Works to meet the challenge:
From 2023–2024, AHECs:
✅ Connected 685,095 individuals to training, education, and career pathways.
✅ Facilitated 301,947 clinical rotations, with 44% in rural areas and 59% in primary care settings.
✅ Introduced 270,088 students to health careers, sparking interest in primary care professions.
✅ Equipped 7,738 future health professionals with leadership skills through the AHEC Scholars Program.
AHEC Works to expand access to quality healthcare—especially primary and preventive care—by strengthening the supply and distribution of health professionals.
