Safe Haven signs are now posted at our three medical centers, with a sign coming soon at Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville in the Emergency Department.

These signs inform parents in crisis that they can safely and legally surrender a newborn, no questions asked. Learn more about Missouri’s Safe Haven Law and how we’re helping protect the most vulnerable at asafehavenfornewborns.com.

With 4th of July Weekend upon us we wanted to share this to help out patients!

Fourth of July weekend includes celebration of American freedom but can also be one of the busiest times for hospital emergency rooms (ER) and urgent cares (UC). First off, we encourage you to practice fireworks safety, water safety and so on, but if you do have an accident or injury, below is a short list of whether to visit the ER or the UC.

Visit the Emergency Department for:

🔹 Burns on the face, hands or feet
🔹 Chest pain or pressure could indicate signs of a heart attack
🔹 Deep or large cuts that involve muscle or bone
🔹 Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
🔹 Drowning and near-drowning incidents
🔹 Head injuries that cause a loss of consciousness or confusion
🔹 Heat-related illnesses
🔹 Severe allergic reactions
🔹 Signs of a stroke
🔹 Uncontrolled bleeding that doesn't stop with pressure

Visit Urgent Care for:

🔸 Cold or flu symptoms, including a sore throat, cough or mild fever
🔸 Ear or eye infections
🔸 Food poisoning, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea without signs of dehydration
🔸 Urinary tract infections
🔸 Minor cuts, burns or sprains
🔸 Minor back pain
🔸 Skin rashes or insect bites that aren't spreading

We're excited for this year's Red Rally! Mosaic is, once again, the presenting sponsor and official health care provider for The Kansas City Chiefs training camp Missouri Western State University.

He’s back to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph! Back by popular demand, hip-hop artist Tech N9ne will once again be the featured performer at the Red Rally, the official kickoff pep rally of the Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp. The Red Rally is scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Civic Center Park in downtown St. Joseph from 12-4pm.

The Sunday event includes a pre-rally, which begins at noon and features DJ music. Chiefs’ fans are encouraged to wear red, pick a spot and enjoy the fun atmosphere which includes inflatables forkids, t-shirts for sale, plus food and drink vendors. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

At 1:30pm, country artist Blane Howard will perform. At 3pm, the “Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs” Mitch Holthus, will kick off the official rally with KC Wolf. Also expected are the Kansas City Chiefs ambassadors, Chiefs Rumble Drumline and the Griffon Spirit Team from Missouri Western State University.

The rally’s featured performer, Tech N9ne, will perform a set including his famous “Red Kingdom,”an anthem for all Chiefs football fans in addition to other hits. Tech N9ne will perform a family friendly show which is appropriate for kids. In less than two decades, Tech himself has earned three gold records, sold over two million albums, and made multiple appearances on Forbes’s “Hip-HopCash Kings” list. Tech’s multi-faceted skill set has not gone unrecognized by artists of all genres, exemplified by collaborations with such diverse artists as The Doors, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Eminem, and Boyz II Men, to name just a few.

The Red Rally is a collaborative effort from Made With Uncommon Character, St. Joseph, MO, an organization supported by Mosaic Life Care, the City of St. Joseph, St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph School District and Visit St. Joseph, Missouri.
