Welcome, Dr. Donaldson!

Dr. Donaldson is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Following medical school at the University of Kansas, he completed residency in general pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric sports medicine at Children’s Mercy Kansas City.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Donaldson provides the full spectrum of care for pediatric patients, providing well checks, preventative care, sick visits, and managing chronic conditions like asthma and ADHD. As a Mosaic pediatrician, he will care for your child in the nursery and in the hospital if they need to be admitted. As a sports medicine doctor, Dr. Donaldson treats injuries, broken bones, and chronic pain related to participating in sports. He performs arthrocentesis and injections as needed.

On August 8, 2025, I did a first in my life. I delivered memory bears that had been crafted by hospice volunteers made from Mrs. Holmes' clothing. I had never met Mr. Holmes or his wife, Nancy, but I know what the family was experiencing and happy to offer bereavement support.

During Caregiver Week last week, we also celebrated annual service awards. These awards honor caregivers who have shown dedication and loyalty to Mosaic. Service awards are given in five-year increments, beginning at five years of service.

Those celebrating service awards were recognized at a gathering with their leaders during caregiver week. Thank you to all of our caregivers for your many years of service to our patients and each other!

Guest speakers from Mayo Clinic joined us this week for Addressing Su***de and Trauma. Local mental health professionals gathered to learn strategies to better understand and help, not only those who may be having suicidal thoughts, but also those who are affected by the loss of someone who has committed su***de.

This interactive session included opportunities to practice specific strategies during small group discussions. Participants also received Continuing Education Units from the MoWest Social Work Department.

To help manage your time, use the “On My Way” feature in MyChart. Drop down Menu, Select “Find Urgent Care,” fill in your details, and you’ll be placed in line with an estimated time to be seen—allowing you to wait at home until it’s closer to your turn.

This feature becomes available daily at 9:45 AM to accommodate the morning rush.

Fourth of July weekend includes celebration of American freedom but can also be one of the busiest times for hospital emergency rooms (ER) and urgent cares (UC). First off, we encourage you to practice fireworks safety, water safety and so on, but if you do have an accident or injury, below is a short list of whether to visit the ER or the UC.

Visit the Emergency Department for:

🔹 Burns on the face, hands or feet
🔹 Chest pain or pressure could indicate signs of a heart attack
🔹 Deep or large cuts that involve muscle or bone
🔹 Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
🔹 Drowning and near-drowning incidents
🔹 Head injuries that cause a loss of consciousness or confusion
🔹 Heat-related illnesses
🔹 Severe allergic reactions
🔹 Signs of a stroke
🔹 Uncontrolled bleeding that doesn't stop with pressure

Visit Urgent Care for:

🔸 Cold or flu symptoms, including a sore throat, cough or mild fever
🔸 Ear or eye infections
🔸 Food poisoning, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea without signs of dehydration
🔸 Urinary tract infections
🔸 Minor cuts, burns or sprains
🔸 Minor back pain
🔸 Skin rashes or insect bites that aren't spreading

Memorial Day Hours
In observance of Memorial Day, our clinic will be open with limited hours from 9 AM to 2 PM on Monday, May 27.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 28.
