Meet LiseAnne.
A registered nurse living with gastroparesis, she completed an accelerated nursing program more than 2,000 miles from home while relying on a J-tube for nutrition.
After years of managing TPN, central lines, and feeding tubes, Enterra Therapy has helped her live out loud again.

Today, she works full-time as a pediatric and adult float nurse and enjoys crafting, watching sports, visiting air and space museums, spending time with her dog, Simon, and rediscovering her love of food—especially baking sourdough. Today marks the start of Feeding Tube Awareness Week®. This week, we honor the individuals who rely on feeding tubes, along with the caregivers, clinicians, and organizations who walk alongside them every day. At Enterra Medical, we stand with patients to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and foster understanding around enteral nutrition. For some people living with gastroparesis, enteral nutrition can be an important part of their care journey.

In this episode, G-PACT and Dr. Alsheik talk through what gastroparesis is, why it can be difficult to diagnose, and what care and treatment options may look like over time. The conversation also highlights the importance of education, trusted resources, and having support throughout the journey. During , advocacy organizations like G-PACT (Gastroparesis Patient Association for Cures and Treatments, Inc), IFFGD and the Association of Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders, Inc. (AGMD) led powerful efforts to educate the public about the condition, elevate patient voices, and share vital resources. We were proud to support their work and stand alongside them in raising awareness and driving meaningful change.

We were especially excited to come together as an Enterra Medical team to participate in the Gastroparesis Pie Face Challenge—a lighthearted but powerful campaign that raises funds for education. The challenge invites participants to take a pie to the face in solidarity with those living with gastroparesis, helping to spark conversation and spread awareness in a fun, engaging way. It was a meaningful event for our team to unite around this cause and celebrate the strength and resilience of the patients who continue to rise above the challenges of gastroparesis.
