“It's time to turn a spotlight on mental health.”
Today, two of our staff were able to join many others at the capitol building for Mental Health Day on the Hill presented by the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI).
Advocates and legislators from across the state spoke about policy changes and bills being presented to the House of Representatives and Senate. Many of these proposals could help to create better access and affordability in mental health treatment, as well as create better community programs and resources specifically for underserved communities.
It was amazing to see the strength and passion put into advocating for real change within the mental health community.
Thank you to NAMI, the Mental Health Legislative Network, and all of the other amazing groups and legislators that make it possible for our community to have a voice.
