✨ PEER Models Needed ✨

We’re looking for kind, confident, and patient peer models to support our 3–5 year old preschool group 💛

At this age, children learn best through watching, imitating, and connecting with others. Having positive role models in their environment helps shape not only what they do—but how they do it.

Why this matters:
Little eyes are always watching 👀

When children see peers or leaders demonstrating skills, they are more likely to:
• Try new things
• Stay engaged longer
• Build confidence in themselves
• Learn appropriate social behaviors

Skills we’re building through role modeling:
🤝 Social skills – turn-taking, sharing, cooperative play

🧠 Attention & participation – staying with a group, following routines

✋ Fine motor skills – cutting, coloring, building, creating

🏃‍♀️ Gross motor skills – balance, coordination, body awareness

🗣️ Communication – expressing needs, asking for help, interacting with peers

💪 Independence & confidence – “I can do it!” moments

What a role model looks like:
• Follows directions
• Encourages others
• Tries their best (even when it’s hard)
• Uses kind words and actions

This is more than just play—it’s intentional development through connection and example.

✨ Enrollment is OPEN NOW – Limited Availability ✨
Sessions run June 1st – July 31st

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY ☘️

Here at Marian Hope, we feel pretty LUCKY to learn through play!

Our OT St. Patrick’s Day activities focused on:
• Fine motor skills
• Visual-motor coordination
• Attention to task
• Bilateral hand use

Therapy doesn’t always look like work… sometimes it looks like searching for shamrocks and building leprechaun traps! 🌈✨

Our Mighty Hands Workshop kicked off its 3rd session and these kids were busy working hard! 💪✏️

This week we focused on following multi-step directions while building important writing, coloring, and cutting skills. Activities like these help strengthen the foundation for classroom success, independence, and confidence.

Big progress happens when little hands get to work!

🦆 One activity. Two therapies. Endless skill building.

In our preschool class, we intentionally blend Speech + OT into one cohesive, play-based experience.

First stop: Speech Therapy 💬
Children selected a duck from the water and answered WH-questions, identified numbers, and compared concepts like big vs. small.

➡️ Targeting: receptive/expressive language, vocabulary development, auditory processing, and cognitive concepts.

Next stop: Occupational Therapy ✏️
Students matched the number on their duck to the number posted on the vertical surface.
Then they used small rock crayons to color the matching number — working to stay within boundaries and follow back-and-forth directions.

➡️ Targeting:
• Visual scanning & number recognition
• Cross-midline & shoulder stability (vertical surface work!)
• Fine motor strength & grasp development
• Visual-motor integration
• Direction following & task completion

This is what inclusive, collaborative therapy looks like.

This is how we intentially play with purpose 🤩

🎉 We are now enrolling in our 3–5 year old preschool class!

If you’re looking for a program that integrates speech, OT, and hands-on learning — we’d love to connect. We enroll BOTH children with therapy needs but also availiblity for peer models!!

📖✨ Story Recall Starts with Visuals ✨📖

Story time is more than listening — it’s understanding and retelling.

Using visual supports helps children:
🧠 Remember key details
🔄 Sequence events (first, next, last)
🗣️ Expand expressive language
💬 Answer WH-questions with confidence

When we make language visible, we reduce cognitive load and strengthen comprehension. Visuals give kids an anchor so stories truly stick.

Struggling with recall or retelling? Speech therapy can help build those skills step by step. 💛

🤓What a therapist sees:
✔️ Bilateral coordination
✔️ In-hand manipulation
✔️ Precision grasp development
✔️ Hand strength
✔️ Visual-motor integration
✔️ Midline crossing
✔️ Attention + task persistence

This simple lacing activity is building the foundations for writing, dressing, buttoning, zipping, cutting, and overall independence.

It looks like play.
It feels like play.
But it’s purposeful.

Because the small skills create the big milestones. 💛

✨ If your child struggles with handwriting, getting dressed, or fine motor tasks, let’s build the foundation together. Reach out to schedule an evaluation or ask us your questions — we’re here to help.
