Join MSRC and respiratory therapy colleagues from across the state for MSRC Day on the Hill!

MSRC Legislative Committee organized this advocacy event to focus on advancing legislation that allows Minnesota Respiratory Therapists to join the Respiratory Care Interstate Compact.

✔ Benefits for therapists, hospitals, and healthcare organizations statewide

From neonatal and pediatric respiratory care to chronic lung disease, bronchiectasis, patient education, and quality improvement, our upcoming speakers bring decades of experience, leadership, and passion to the stage. 🎤 Speaker Spotlight!
Introducing our final 2026 MSRC Winter Workshop presenter:

Amy Nelson, BSRC, CRT, CPFT, AE-C

Topic:
➡️ “Sputum! Sputum! Sputum! Is it Bronchiectasis?”

Amy brings 25+ years of respiratory care experience, beginning her career in Indiana and Idaho before settling in Minnesota. She earned her bachelor’s in Respiratory Care from the University of Mary in North Dakota and has worked extensively with Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Lung Transplant, and other complex pulmonary populations in the outpatient setting.

She is passionate about quality improvement, patient education, and building strong clinician–patient partnerships. Amy also co-authored a 2024 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation position paper redefining the CF care model. Outside of work, she loves to volunteer, travel, cook, and spend time outdoors with her family.

Amy started her journey in North Dakota and eventually made it to Minnesota, so YES, she’s absolutely qualified to handle the cold. ❄️💪

Introducing another outstanding presenter for the 2026 MSRC Winter Workshop:

Melissa Olson, MHA, RRT-ACCS

Topic:
➡️ “Respiratory Therapy and Quality Improvement”

Melissa has been an RT since 2014 and now serves as a Clinical Educator at M Health Fairview. Her experience includes adult critical care, ECMO, and teaching as a clinical instructor at St. Catherine University. She’s passionate about strengthening both the quality of care and the efficiency behind it. Melissa has also served on the MSRC Board and currently chairs Student Affairs and HOSA, supporting future RTs across the state.

And since Melissa is local to Minnesota, we’re confident she already knows:
Quality improvement is important… especially when it comes to getting anywhere during winter road construction. 🚧❄️😅

Introducing another incredible presenter for the 2026 MSRC Winter Workshop:

Christopher L. Bosley, BS, RRT, RRT-NPS, LRT, RCP

Topic:
➡️ “Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia: The New Chronic Lung Disease”

Chris has been a respiratory therapist for 27 years, with the past 24 years at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He has an extensive background in neonatal/pediatric care, including 14 years on transport teams, and now serves as an Education Clinical Specialist.

He’s also an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology & Pediatrics, a Fellow of the Mayo Clinic Academy of Educational Excellence, a lecturer, adjunct faculty member, consultant to the NBRC’s Neonatal/Pediatric Exam Committee, and a past President of the Minnesota Society for Respiratory Care.

Outside of work, Chris is a passionate foodie, traveler, youth volunteer, antique-tractor restorer, and supporter of pediatric medical missions in Vietnam.

And with Chris being a big foodie,
we’re only slightly nervous he’ll bring tasting notes to the luncheon. 😄🍽️

🎤 Speaker Spotlight!
Introducing our next 2026 MSRC Winter Workshop presenter:

Julie Jackson, BAS, RRT, RRT-ACCS, RCP

Topic:
➡️ “Utilization and Implementation of High Flow Therapy in the Emergency Department”

With 29 years of RT experience, Julie brings a deep clinical and leadership background to our speaker lineup. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotions and spent 26 years at UnityPoint Health Des Moines, where she served as Manager of Respiratory Care and led the ECMO team across five hospitals.

Julie has also authored and co-authored numerous publications on high flow therapy, focusing on improving patient outcomes and strengthening the health of the organization.

Since she’s joining us from Iowa, we kindly let her know:
Minnesota “cold” and Iowa “cold” are two very different sports. ❄️🏅
We can’t wait to welcome her to the Winter Workshop!
