As a trained professional with 12 years of experience being a parent, I will provide clients in a critical stage of parenthood with gentle yet confident physical, emotional, and informational support. 🌟 Happy Black Doula Day! 🌟
Today, we honor the beautiful souls who hold space, offer wisdom, and empower Black birthing experiences. As a Black doula, I stand tall in the legacy of our ancestors, who valued the sacred journey of childbirth.

Being a doula is more than a profession; it's a calling, a commitment to advocacy, and a celebration of Black resilience. From providing comfort during labor to advocating for birthing rights, doulas are the unsung heroes of maternal health.

We amplify Black voices, advocate for equitable care, and celebrate the beauty of Black bodies in birth. Today, I celebrate my fellow Black doulas who continue to break barriers, challenge norms, and nurture the next generation of mothers.

To all the Black doulas out there: your presence matters, your work is invaluable, and your impact is immeasurable. Keep shining your light and uplifting our community. Happy Black Doula Day! 🖤✨

Do you know the 6 Healthy Birth Practices?

Birth is a natural process that requires minimal intervention, if any at all. We’ve lost touch with our natural ability to give birth out of the fear of pain and increased labor interventions such as induction.

Knowing and trusting your birthing team is crucial for a great labor, movement is extremely beneficial and laying on your back for labor is not what’s best.

Try to avoid interventions that aren’t medically necessary and immediately request skin to skin once your baby is earth side. Try breastfeeding with your support doula if you can. These 6 birth practices will benefit us all! Family Trees Birth Programs

Who doing the during labor?! I love this clip! ❤️

One of the Lamaze 6 healthy birth practices is to walk, move around and change positions throughout labor.

I’m so happy that with my last labor I was able to walk around, move my hips on an exercise ball, and change positions throughout labor as I felt moved to do.

This was also the only labor where I did zero pushing and baby came out with no tears!!! Talking about body being prepared! I know the way I moved throughout had so much to do with it as well as not laboring on my back. That’s a story for another post though.
