Nice and nifty, Nadiffa Karie ARNP has clinic this Saturday in St Paul, so call 651-227-7806 after 8:30am to see her for your child’s health problems.

We are still seeing severe sore throats and fevers from COVID and Strep and Adenovirus so you will need to be seen to sort those possibilities apart.

Ear infections and sinus infections are occurring as common secondary infections as well.

Since we have not had a hard frost nor snow, if it gets above 60 F then the ticks and Mosquitoes can come out to play still.

And until the snow ‘locks’ all the pollen and mold are still available to play havoc with your child’s health so please keep up with allergy controls and medications.

Magical Meredith Doran ARNP is working today and has Saturday clinic in St. Paul. So call today or after 8:30am Saturday to see her - call 651-227-7806. Monday through Friday you can schedule even Same Day Appointments by going online at www.PYAM.com and select Online Scheduling!

Current strain of Covid is an aggressive but not dangerous Upper Respiratory Illness (URI) but is still begins with a sore throat and has a lot of kids getting secondary sinus infections and ear infections.

Norovirus ( a severe Gastrointestinal virus or ‘stomach flu’) has started showing up but first day can look like strep or milder stomach flu except more severe aches and fevers. Best to stock up now on popsicles and Pedialyte (they make fun flavored popsicles as well) and Gatorade or Powerade so you can stay hydrated and keep your blood sugar up and stable electrolytes or salts. Any child not able to keep liquids down should be seen as it can also lead to appendicitis!

Adenovirus causing classic Pharyngo-conjunctival fevers ! High fevers, inflamed watery red eyes, severe sore throat and nausea - these cases should be evaluated as well to check for secondary illness and guidance on when to call or return for but also to make sure no secondary infections even on first days. We have had lots of strep throats and tonsillitis taking advantage of your child’s challenged immune system.

Always safer and faster, and PYAM is friendly and cheaper than any Urgent Care or ER and we have dedicated Pediatric trained staff and providers at PYAM. So don’t waste hours in an ER or UR only to get sick with some new illness. PYAM can get you in and out quickly and safely with appropriate medical care!

At Pediatric & Young Adult Medicine, our team of board-certified physicians provide the highest quality care for infants, children, and young adults. Call us!

This Saturday we have the Terrific Tiffany Maher ARNP in clinic to care for your sick children.

Still a lot of Covid causing sore throats and coughs and frequent ear and sinus infection. Strep still causing sore throats. Also, kids are coming in with ADENOVIRUS which causes high fevers, red and watery eyes, severe sore throats and a cough. Babies can get a viral meningitis from this as well so keep babies away from school age kids or minimize their interactions. Again secondary sinus infections but also tonsillitis is common. Don’t delay, come in this Friday or Saturday so you don’t find yourself in the ER all Sunday or Saturday night!

Magical Maggie Smith ARNP has Saturday Clinic at PYAM in St Paul. Call after 8:30am at 651-227-7806 to be seen.

Though many of us are enjoying another Minnesota ‘second summer’ so are the bugs! Yellow Jackets and Hornets and wasps are all on the hunt for protein and you and your kids look tasty so watch where we walk and play and don’t forget insect repellent and nightly tick checks. Mosquitos that carry West Nile virus are out and biting as well.

Strep has picked up with school in session as has Covid-19 which looks and acts like strep for first 24 hours often with sore throats and fevers but Covid has a lot of fatigue associated with it and a risk for sinus infections and ear infections.

Adenovirus and another milder gastrointestinal virus also causing sore throats so come in to PYAM to be properly diagnosed and see if secondary illnesses need treatment as well.

Now is a good time to get your flu shots.

So enjoy the warmth as Fall returns next week!

Dr. Siefferman has Saturday clinic in St. Paul- call 651-227-7806 today or tomorrow after 8:30am.

Covid-19 is picking up in frequency- mainly aches and fatigue and short period of a sore throat. Secondary illnesses are usually ear and sinus infections about 3 to 5 days after illness began.

Strep and adenovirus are our next biggest cause of sore throat but adenovirus can also cause high fevers and red eyes and a viral pneumonia along with stomach flu like symptoms.

Fall allergies are another big cause of sinus infections and triggering a fair amount of asthma.

PYAM has same day visits Monday through Saturday.

Enjoy our second summer as second Fall is around the corner!

Covid picking up, mainly a bad cold with more fatigue than most Upper Respiratory Illnesses (URI) but can have a sore throat as severe as strep and 4 to 5 days into illness we are seeing lots of sinus and ear infections.

Strep and a mild stomach flu both presenting with sore throats and nausea so don’t wait to be seen next week.

Don’t waste hours in an Urgent Care when you can see a dedicated pediatric provider in much less time in a child centric care center!

Dr. Siefferman has Saturday clinic in St Paul. Call today or after 8:30am tomorrow to be seen at 651-227-7806.

Covid-19 still mild but a lot of fatigue and secondary sinus infection and ear infections and asthmatics having issues as well. Strep still out there along with a suspected Astrovirus ‘stomach flu’ causing sore throats, brief nausea and diarrhea for up to two weeks.

Tick and mosquitos still causing issues. And now yellow jackets are searching for protein so still need insect repellents and vigilant eyes watching for those pests.

Remember that PYAM is a lot less expensive than Urgent Cares and a lot faster and providers skilled in Pediatrics so don’t waste hours in an urgent care just call 651-227-7806 and feel free to leave a voice mail as we always call you back. Or you can go online!
