Minnetonka audiologist Rebecca Younk discusses hearing loss and dementia
From the article: Researchers discovered that participants with hearing loss with hearing aids had a 61% lower risk of developing incident all-cause dementia compared to those with hearing loss without hearing aids.
Younk explains that there isn’t one single reason for the correlation between hearing loss and dementia, but rather a combination of factors that researchers have discovered. One of the factors she mentions is social isolation due to hearing loss.
