Yes… I am an advocate for these creatures 💜

Opossums might not win any beauty contests, but they’re secret superheroes of the animal world. 🦸‍♂️🐾

They chow down on pests like ticks (up to 5,000 in a single season!), roaches, and even rodents — slashing the spread of nasty diseases like Lyme. They’re also basically immune to rattlesnake venom, thanks to a special blood protein scientists are now studying to create life-saving antivenom.

Next time you see one waddling by, give it a little respect — it’s working the night shift to keep you safe. 🌙✨

We’re here for fairgoers all Minnesota State Fair long!

Our Regions Hospital Emergency Medical Services event medicine team enters its 16th consecutive state fair as the official first aid provider and will be onsite every day in first aid stations near the West End Market and inside the 4-H building.

We treat everything under the late-summer sun, from blisters and bug bites to sunburns and dehydration. Medical treatment is free, with EMTs, paramedics, nurses and doctors from Regions available during fair hours.

Remember to stay hydrated and keep cool while at the fair. See you there!

Reducing the number of preventable injuries for kids 0-19.

The host organization for this SafeKids coalition is Regions Hospital. SafeKids Greater East Metro/St. Croix Valley is housed under the Injury Prevention and Outreach Program.

Advisory board members of the coalition include representatives in St. Paul and the greater east metro from various organizations including health care, public safety, education/daycare, and private industry.

Regions Hospital is a non-profit organization and is able to receive donations in support of injury prevention initiatives - which in turn support SafeKids coalition activities.
