Our Regions Hospital food and nutrition team is leading by example — and the Minnesota Hospital Association took notice, honoring them with a sustainability award for their outstanding efforts.

For years, the team has been redefining hospital dining through innovative, sustainable practices which allow them to nourish lives both inside and outside the hospital.

Their impact includes:

●Partnering with local and veteran-owned vendors
●Donating surplus food to people in need
●Tracking food waste and turning it into hog feed
●Inspiring healthy habits in schools through the PowerUp program

We’re fortunate to have a team of colleagues who are dedicated to improving health and well-being, both in the hospital and the community. From serving up nutritious meals to teaching kids about healthy foods, they’re making a difference every day.

There were plenty of smiling faces and proud families when 15 St. Paul firefighters graduated from Regions Hospital’s new paramedic training course.

The firefighters made the most of Regions’ clinical sites, preceptors and staff expertise to become certified paramedics after 1,500 hours of training. It was Regions’ return to offering paramedic education after a 30-year absence.

“Our partnership with the city of St. Paul has a direct impact on patient outcomes,” said Matt Milder, Regions Hospital EMS director. “We really admire this group of firefighters for their commitment to advance their education to the paramedic level.”
