๐ฅ Twin Cities Battle of the Badges 2026 โ Charity Recipients Announcement ๐ฅ
Every year, this event is about more than stepping into the ring. Itโs about standing up for our brothers and sisters who serve alongside us. This year, we are honored to introduce the two charity recipients for the 2026 Twin Cities Battle of the Badges. We have selected one recipient representing the fire service and one representing law enforcement โ both incredible men who now need our support.
๐ Fire Recipient: Captain Nate Miller โ Eagan Fire
Captain Nate Miller was diagnosed with colon cancer on New Yearโs Eve 2025. A dedicated firefighter for 17 years and Captain for the last three, Nate has always lived a life of strength and service โ competing in CrossFit events, running marathons, and even completing an Ironman.
In January 2026, Nate underwent major surgery and has since been diagnosed with Stage IIIB colon cancer. His diagnosis has been directly linked to the occupational hazards firefighters face in the line of duty. Nate and his family now face a long and difficult road of treatment and recovery, and we are proud to stand behind one of our own.
๐ Police Recipient: Deputy Chris Beck
Deputy Chris Beck, a devoted husband, father, and 20-year law enforcement veteran, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 SMARCB1-deficient sinonasal carcinoma โ an extremely rare and aggressive cancer. Chris has served his community as a SWAT operator, negotiator, investigator, and Real Time Crime Center Deputy. Known for his big heart and welcoming spirit, Chris has always been there for others. Now he and his family are facing an intense and complex treatment journey that brings significant emotional and financial strain.
๐ฅ This is why we fight.
When we step into the ring this May, were not just representing our departments were fighting for Chris, for Nate, and for every first responder family facing hardship.
Letโs pack the house and make this the biggest year yet. Together we can make a real difference for these two deserving heroes and their families.
More updates coming soon.
