🇺🇸 American Bread: Garbage or Gold? Why Europeans Won’t Touch Our Loaves! 🇪🇺
Carbs are getting a bad rap — but here’s the truth: It’s not the carbs, it’s the quality that counts.
Most American bread is nutritionally dead—and many Europeans won’t even eat it.
Why? Because it’s loaded with additives, stripped of fiber and nutrients, and often contains questionable chemicals that don’t pass muster overseas.
Here’s what’s really going on:
Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, the bread industry started stripping out the fiber, bran, and germ from whole grains to create refined white flour.
The goal?
-Increase shelf life by removing oils that cause bread to go rancid
-Make bread softer, lighter, and more appealing to consumers
-Speed up production and lower costs
But this process turned bread from a nourishing whole food into a nutritional empty shell.
On top of that, many breads still contain potassium bromate, a flour improver banned in Europe because it’s linked to cancer and other health concerns.
And there’s more: Glyphosate, a toxic herbicide sprayed on conventional wheat crops, contaminates much of the wheat supply in the U.S., adding to the toxic load that burdens our bodies—especially the liver and gut.
Eating these low-quality breads can contribute to:
🛑 Liver stagnation
🛑 Leaky gut and digestive issues
🛑 Chronic inflammation and fatigue
Important: People with gluten sensitivity, lectin sensitivity, or celiac disease should avoid gluten-containing breads altogether for their health.
When it comes to our health, we must always follow the money—the food industry profits when we consume cheap, processed, and nutrient-depleted products.
That’s why eating foods as close as possible to what God made is always best.
Whole grains with the fiber and nutrients intact, grown and prepared naturally, nourish our bodies the way they were designed to be.
So before blaming carbs, look closely at what kind of bread you’re eating. The good news? Carbs themselves aren’t the enemy. The key is choosing real, high-quality carbs and breads that nourish your body.
Here’s how to choose wisely:
✅ Bake your own bread with organic, non-bleached flour and soaked grains to improve digestion
✅ Buy local, artisanal breads with minimal, recognizable ingredients
✅ Look for breads free of preservatives, additives, and harmful chemicals
Whole-food carbs like sweet potatoes, legumes, quinoa, and fresh fruits and veggies are also fantastic options to fuel your body with clean energy.
