It’s Give to the Max Day - an annual day of generosity to support Minnesota's nonprofits! Begin your holiday giving today!

For about the cost of a daily cup of coffee, your modest gift can help us invest in our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with the competitive wages and benefits they deserve. They work hard each day to provide personalized care to someone's parent, sibling, or child—maybe even yours!

Did you know…
A gift of $13 is equal to one (1) hour of DSP services
A gift of $26 is equal to two (2) hours of DSP services
A gift of $39 is equal to three (3) hours of DSP services
A gift of $104 is equal to eight ( 8 ) hours of DSP services

Or choose the amount that feels right for you. Your gift will make a difference! All Give to the Max donations today will go back to our Sustain Our Services campaign.

We’re thrilled to share that this Thursday is Give to the Max Day—Minnesota’s annual giving day. As we gear up for this incredible day of giving, we’re reaching out to you, our valued supporter, to help us kickstart our campaign strong.

Our work wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our Direct Support Professionals! Take for example, A’Zirah from Carver House. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure everyone at Carver House receives care tailored to their unique needs.

• For Arthur: She encourages him to participate in activities by setting up the activity ahead of time, complete with a drink, snack, and his tablet in case he gets distracted.
• For Jackie: She does her hair specifically to match her outfit for the day, and of course, always makes sure she is wearing her bracelets that she needs to have a successful day.
• For Cody: She encourages him to help with daily activities around the home, like helping with dinner, setting the table, or doing his exercises and daily walks.
• For Laurel: She always reads Laurel her favorite book, sets the TV to her favorite show, or plays music and dances with her.

She also goes the extra mile to make sure the house is set up for the next person on duty, including getting pajamas and lunches ready.

This is why your support this week is so important! Our Direct Support Professionals are at the heart of carrying out our mission every day. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do this. Please consider supporting us this Thursday for Give to the Max Day or anytime this week. You can make a difference!

🎃 Our annual Halloween Party for the individuals we support was a spook-tacular success! The creativity during our costume contest was incredible, and we were thrilled to announce the winner of our Pumpkin Contest— Foss House! Every entry was unique and full of personality.

🎶 With a DJ spinning our favorite tunes, the dance floor was packed all night. We also had a blast decorating cookies, sharing laughs, and making memories together. 🍪

👻 Thank you to all the staff who made this inclusive celebration possible! We’re grateful for our amazing community and can’t wait to do it again next year!

Community Steps Up at Made in the Shade 5K Walk

It turned out to be the perfect fall day for our annual Made in the Shade 5K Walk, Run & Roll in September! Phoenix supporters from all walks of life joined us for this 5K Walk that brings the disability community together to bring awareness to our community and the issues we face.

With six other disability providers and WCCO anchor Shayla Reaves as our emcee, we enjoyed a day full of music, food and friends—it truly was a day of celebration! Participants enjoyed a few new activities this year, including a visit from a couple therapy miniature horses, fun games, and face painting.

And of course, the Art Contest is always fun to vote in. Our very own Chaparral House won 2nd Place in the assisted category with their version of similarities between Lake Bde Maka Ska (location of the event) and the individuals in their house. Congratulations Chaparral House!

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, or shared about the event! You helped make this day a success! Thanks to all of you, we raised about $16,000 to support our Phoenix homes!
