March is Lymphedema Awareness Month.

Lymphedema is a chronic condition that affects the lymphatic system and can cause swelling, discomfort, and mobility challenges. Increasing awareness helps individuals recognize symptoms earlier and access the care and resources they need.

We’re excited to feature Andy Johnson from Helping Paws, Inc. as a speaker at this year’s Handi Abilities Showcase.

Since 1988, Helping Paws has been dedicated to training and placing assistance dogs with veterans, first responders, and individuals with physical disabilities or PTSD.

In this session, attendees will learn what assistance dogs do, the impact they have, and the key differences between service, therapy, and emotional support dogs.

This is a valuable session for healthcare professionals, caregivers, and anyone supporting individuals with PTSD or disabilities.

Safe travels; thank you for choosing Handi Medical Supply. We appreciate the shout out♥️

On the road again!! Our trip immediately started off on the wrong wheel (lol).

We were hoping to head out by 10am but ended up being delayed until 1pm. Why, you ask? After having loaded everything, we went to transfer Cole into his powerchair, only to realize the batteries had completely died. We had to scramble to find a solution! Handi Medical to the rescue! They were able to fit us in last minute, had the batteries Cole needed in stock, and got them covered by insurance right away which would have cost us ~$1,100.

Our trip didn’t start as we hoped but this is a typical experience living with a disability. You never know what life is going to throw your way and you have to find a way to roll with it!

We’re on our second day of driving today! Any guesses where we are headed??? Hint: it’s south of Minneapolis.
