Growth: Satisfied?

Part 5 of 5 | Growth: Satisfaction

Journal Prompt: What are you satisfied with on your growth journey? How do you know when you arrive where you want to be? Are you giving yourself grace? If not, why? Do you celebrate the small achievements along the way? If not, why? How do you enjoy your moments of growth? Where are you going from here? Don't forget to celebrate as you rush off to achieve the next.

Please join me in answering the video's question: Are you satisfied with your growth? As much as we do to get to where we are going, what's up with not celebrating yourself along the way? At completion? We do do do do, and then we achieve; then we do do do some more... What's up with that? Be sure to celebrate the small steps. Be sure to give yourself full credit for those big monumental moments as well. Stop and enjoy your moment, moment-to-moment. Recognize where you came from and where you are now. Recognize that you are not done, BUT before you move to the next thing, pause and take notice. Give yourself credit and bask in it. You DID that!

Feel free to use your own examples and life experiences to apply the information you hear as you see fit. If you have a success story, recount how you got to where you are now? What do you need to keep going? What is standing in the way?

Grow Glow Flow - Celebrate & then celebrate some more!!!!!!!

Growth: Distractors + Disruptors to Growth

Growth Series

Part 4 of 5 | Growth: What Is Keeping You From Growing?

Journal Prompt: What are the disruptors to your growth journey? What and who is keeping you from growing in the direction you want to go? What are the voices that you hold in mind? What are they speaking to you? What are the lies you keep hearing over and over? What or who is standing in your way? Name it. Name them. Now push it and them out of the way (psychologically speaking)!

Please join me in answering the video's question: What is keeping me from growing? What we do not acknowledge, we cannot heal. Once you name it, you can deal with it. Once you decide to deal with it, permit yourself to heal from it. Keep the growth spurt going.

Feel free to use your own examples and life experiences to apply the information you hear as you see fit. If you have a success story, recount how you got to where you are now? What do you need to keep going? What is standing in the way?

You have to know to grow!

Growth: Minnesota Winter Purposeful + Protective Stance 03/25/2021

Growth: Minnesota Winter Purposeful + Protective Stance

Part 3 of 5 | Growth: Minnesota Winter - Purposeful + Protective?

Journal Prompt: Wherever you live, what is your biggest complaint surrounding the weather? I use to HATE Minnesota winters until I decided that if I was going to live here, I might as well save the energy of complaining about it - repeatedly. I also later found that protective factors came along with snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. Remember, it is all about mindset. You can think about it positively or negatively, you decide. Embrace the changes, grow with them, or complain about it and miss everything else that comes with enjoying your environment, season to season.

Please join me in answering the video's question: What about Minnesota Winters help us GROW? If you are outside of Minnesota, what season do you complain about the most? Can you see any beauty in it? What can you appreciate about it? Is there something deeper you can take away from it? Preserve your energy from complaining and try to think more positively so you can enjoy all of the fullness of the earth and everything in between.

Feel free to use your own examples and life experiences to apply the information you hear as you see fit. If you have a success story, recount how you got from where you were to where you are now? What do you need to keep going?

With growth comes discomfort and complaint. Try to see the beauty and the benefits of it instead!

Growing Pains: What Do Growing Pains Look Like?

Take Care Tuesdays

Part 2 of 5 | Growth: Growing Pains

Journal Prompt: What is your cue that you are going through a growing pain versus a growth spurt?

Please join me in answering the question posed in the video of What are GROWING PAINS? What do they look like within your growth journey?

Feel free to use your own examples and life experiences to apply the information you hear as you see fit. Each one of us has a growth story. Some of us knew what we wanted from an early age and stage in life. Some of us just walked in blindness and faith and arrived somewhere that felt satisfying to the soul. Yet, some of us may still be on that journey of discovery. What is yours? How did you get from where you were to where you are now? What do you need to keep doing? Now describe what growing pains look like for you... What are your cues? DO you take them on, run from them, or sit in them for a while?

With growth comes growing pain.

Research Thursday 👶🏽

As stated by Soderstrom and Skarderud, (2009, p. 53): Minding the mind of the baby is a necessary precondition for the development of the infant’s self, affect regulation, and interpersonal understanding. This is intuitively understood by most caregivers, as the early interaction with the infant to a large extent consists of face-to-face and mind-to-mind interactions. Dr. Sweeney’s (2018) study assumes that exposure to early adverse experiences will affect a caregiver's self-development and be later brought into relationship with the children. If unresolved adversity prevents the caregiver from reflecting on the child’s needs, there might be challenges to the parent-child relationship, which will leave the child more vulnerable to adverse experiences. The ability to understand other minds rests on the experience of having been understood as an individual with a mind. The child learns the mind's dynamics and logic in safe and intimate interaction with caregivers, and the hoped-for result is a well-functioning interpersonal, interpretive mechanism and mentalizing competence. (Soderstrom & Skarderud, 2009, p. 53)

Happy Friday Growth 🌱🌱🌱

Growing up, my dad shared that if I found work that I loved to do, I would never work another day in my life…🤔 I had no idea what that meant. Yet, I understood enough to see it through 👣

I have hustled after that statement ever since - I've found my professional love. My passion drives my growth path…and it just works.

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Healing Words Wednesday! Enjoying every moment of our lives!

Who's STUFF is this anyway?!

I hope you are enjoying today to the fullest, rain and all. Can you stand the rain?!

Each of us is responsible for how much we allow others to put their stuff on us. Sort and know your stuff from others stuff. This will lead to a massive growth🌱spurt.

When it doesn’t feel right, it’s not right. If it’s not yours, don’t take it; hand it back (fast).

Decipher what’s yours… and give the other stuff back to its rightful owner. Bag it up and hand that ish back 🤗💔 break the cycle 🔃

This video ends that way. The video cut me off when I began to demonstrate what it's like to bag it up and give it back... It's funny because it ends on holding up the toilet paper - saying, take this ish 💩 back, lol.

The bottom line, know when others put their stuff onto you… know when you are putting your stuff onto others...ahhhhhhh, enjoy!

Please insert your captions of what you would say as you have now bagged up another's stuff (they are not claiming it as theirs and insisting that you just take it and claim it as your own...NOT)👇🏽

Growth 🌱🌱🌱

I am liable for how much I allow others to pull me into their stuff. One of my famous and favorite clinical phrases is "what's your stuff and what’s mine.”

Know your stuff, know when others pull you into their stuff or dump… see 👀 when you are putting your stuff onto others. In other words, check yourself, so others do not have to. I live by these same principles, and it decreases the drama in and around life…. ahhhhhhh!

Mental Wealth Mondays

Growth 🌱🌱🌱

With growth comes unapologetically showing up as one's authentic expression of self.

With self-growth comes the ability to connect with others in a way never imagined. I have learned how to understand others more deeply, including dealing with others and accepting how others deal with me by first understanding what it means to encounter me... I don't always know how people experience me unless they tell me. Therefore, I invite and receive feedback and constructive criticism, which is an essential growth factor.

With growth comes growing pains. I have learned how to accept others' input and use what adds to my life and discard the rest. I have learned to pick my battles wisely and that sometimes holding my tongue is more helpful than hurtful. I have learned to build a positive barrier around my spirit, so I have a place to pull from when others come along to stretch, take, steal, subtract, and disrupt....some intentionally and some not. 🌱🌱🌱

What's going on (Marvin Gaye, 1971). This statement is still relevant today.
What's going on in the 🌎, with you?

How do we make sense of it all? What do I mean by that? I mean, what was Marvin singing about in 1971 that still rings true today? Hmmmmm 🤔
