We are so excited to announce our new peer groups launching this summer! A few things to note:

📝 These are NOT social skills groups. Rather, they will be groups of neurodivergent kids getting the opportunity to connect with others sharing their neurotype and learning how to self-advocate in a world that’s designed for neurotypical people!

📝 A variety of groups will be offered, including: self-advocacy groups, feeding therapy groups, literacy groups, and preschool-aged play/language groups.

📝 Participation in groups is by therapist referral ONLY, and a child must receive one-on-one intervention at The Therapy SP/OT before they join a group.

📝 Both speech and occupational therapists will be involved in facilitating each group.

🌤️Outdoor therapeutic activities we’ve led this week!:

🌱Planting seeds to start inside has provided: sensory input with the dirt, sequencing multi-step directions, executive function with planning/organizing seed placement.

💦Helping water our seeds has given kids the opportunity for heavy work carrying a full watering can across our garden and navigate uneven surfaces.

📖Using our sensory garden as a stage to act out a story helped connect our story to rich experiential learning.

👀Visual scanning by finding items hidden throughout our sensory garden.

The Therapy SP/OT was founded by Anne and Alex in November, 2018 in response to the closing of a valuable clinic in the heart of Saint Paul's Highland Park. We have assembled a highly qualified and therapeutically effective team with three years of experience working together to achieve the best outcomes. We love working closely as part of a team and serving our wonderful community!
