NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR RECOVERY RESIDENCES RESOLUTION
HONORING THE MEMORY
OF
GEORGE BRAUCHT
WHEREAS, George Braucht passed away on May 21, 2025 while serving on the Board of Directors, and the Board hereby desires to reflect on his life and service; and
WHEREAS, George was an original member of the NARR Board of Directors and served with distinction as an advocate for persons in recovery and added his intellect and editing skills to the creation of the NARR Standards and Code of Ethics; and
WHEREAS, George’s sense of humor, kindness, energy, and graciousness have enriched those fortunate enough to know and work with him; and
WHEREAS, throughout his tenure on this Board and until the time of his death, George contributed his tireless efforts and his long-term vision for NARR to implement the social model of recovery into the NARR Standards and Code of Ethics; and
WHEREAS, George also brought to this Board his astute business judgment, his quick wit, the benefit of his experience, and his ability as a leader to set ambitious goals and to inspire others to follow; and
WHEREAS, George provided us all with an example of unselfish, thoughtful, and generous service to others, and of how to live life thinking of others and working for their
benefit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board celebrates the life of accomplishment of George Braucht and expresses its admiration for a life well lived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board extends to George’s family, to his wife Jane, and to his many friends this Board’s profound gratitude for all that George has given to the Board and the greater recovery community.
