Sometimes healing looks like participation in an experiential art installation, sometimes it’s raising your heart rate in a hard work out, sometimes it’s seeking a listening ear in a therapy session, and sometimes it’s medication that we need. We now have an onsite double board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist available to current Virta therapy clients for medication management. We are so lucky to have Dr. Amanda Delaney, MD join our community. She embodies an empathetic and collaborative approach to understand an individual’s needs. As always, we’re here at info@virtatherapy.com if you need anything. ❤️

Offering some gentle guidance to seek time outside and embrace chances to soak up vitamin D as the seasons change and as an act of self-compassion. Transitions, whether they be school, work, loss, relationship changes, moving, aging, or medical care/needs can be so hard on our systems. Know that anything you may be feeling during this time of transition is valid and so welcome at Virta. www.virtatherapy.com

More lovely humans to introduce, as we intentionally build our community! Meet Rowan Queathem, LGSW!

Rowan's approach as a therapist is open-minded, gentle, and warm, and he utilizes humor and empathy to authentically connect with the people he works with. Rowan has a special passion for working with fellow q***r and trans people, as well as disabled and chronically ill communities. He also has an interest in working with caregivers of disabled family members or partners, and people who want to explore body acceptance/fat liberation. He sees anyone over the age of 18, including older adults, for therapy. His own q***r and trans identity is deeply important to him, and it informs his approach to his work on both an individual and relational level.

On a personal note, Rowan says, "I love sci-fi, cooking and baking, spending time with my pets, and getting outside. I also enjoys going on little adventures around the Twin Cities, like checking out different farmers markets and getting lost in Costco."

With immense gratitude for his warm presence, we welcome Rowan to the team! Rowan has immediate openings for new clients, if you're interested reach out to info@virtatherapy.com

I read a lot - my favorite book is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, but my favorite genre is fantasy.
I visited Glacier National Park with my best friend a few years ago. The most memorable part of the trip, aside from how beautiful it is there, was being followed by a brown bear on one of our hikes. I was more than a little relieved when we made it to the car!”
