We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Ecumen Prairie Hill and Sand Prairie leadership team for organizing such a meaningful Memorial ceremony for residents at both communities.

On Friday, May 22nd, they coordinated a beautiful tribute featuring the St. Peter American Legion Color Guard. The morning ceremony honored the brave veterans who gave their lives in service, while also recognizing the residents and families within our communities who have served in the military.

A special thank you goes to Sara Gersemehl for her leadership in bringing this event together and for exemplifying Ecumen’s mission—honoring and serving those who are part of our community, while remembering the significance of Memorial Day.

We’ve included a few photos from the morning, along with a powerful video capturing the moment when the Color Guard received the American flag from a Prairie Hill veteran. The ceremony concluded with the raising of the flag, followed by lowering it to half-staff, and the playing of military taps for the weekend in remembrance.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this tribute so memorable and meaningful.
