•Pursue financial assistance from government and community agencies.
•Adapt their living spaces for greater access, ease of use and peace of mind, such as the installation of ramps or bathroom hand rails.
•Learn new skills, including budgeting, meal preparation and self-advocacy. Delta Center was formed in 1997 by a group of local citizens with disabilities and other persons concerned about disability issues. Funding is provided by the State of Missouri and private contributions. All donations to Delta Center are tax deductible.

These mats provide safer, easier access to the shoreline for individuals with mobility aids, families with strollers, and others who may find sand difficult to navigate.

We’re proud to support inclusive outdoor experiences. Visit one of our lakes and make new memories where everyone can join in the fun under the sun.

“Understanding Waivers in Missouri: What You Need to Know”

Confused about Missouri's waiver programs? You're not alone.
If you or someone you love is living with a physical disability in Missouri, it can be hard to figure out what services you qualify for — especially when so many waivers are built for those with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD).

We're here to help clear things up. 👇

💡 What’s a waiver?
Waivers are special Medicaid programs that let people receive services in their homes or communities — instead of in a nursing home or institution. Each waiver has its own rules about who qualifies and what it covers.

🧍‍♀️ Waivers that MAY help adults with physical disabilities (not I/DD):

If you are 18 to 64 and meet a nursing facility level of care, you might be eligible for one of these (Nursing facility level of care means you need support with daily living tasks, health monitoring, or personal care — enough that you'd qualify for nursing home placement.)

✅ MO Independent Living Waiver
→ Personal care, case management, home modifications, assistive equipment (Note: This waiver may currently be frozen — check with MO HealthNet for updates.)

✅ MO Adult Day Care Waiver
→ Access to adult day care programs if you're 18–63

✅ Structured Family Caregiving Waiver
→ Support for people living with a caregiver in their home (ages 21–64)

✅ MO Medically Fragile Adult Waiver
→ For adults 21+ with complex health needs (including physical disability)

✅ MO Aged and Disabled Waiver
→ For those 63–64 (with physical disabilities) or 65+ (for aging-related needs)

📞 Need help navigating it all?
Start by contacting Missouri’s Division of Senior and Disability Services or visiting:

🧩 Bottom Line:

You don’t have to figure this out alone.
You are seen, valued, and deserving of support — and we’ll help you find it.
