Just visited the history museum today and was blown away by the exhibit featuring natural artifacts from the 1904 World’s Fair! 🌍✨
It’s incredible to think that over 120 years ago, St. Louis hosted more than 20 million visitors from around the globe for what was officially called the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. The Fair covered 1,200 acres and showcased innovations, cultures, and natural wonders from nearly 60 countries. 🌐
Some highlights from today:
🪨 Beautifully preserved geological specimens
🌿 Botanical displays that once represented global biodiversity
🦴 Fossils and early paleontology finds that were first introduced to the public at the Fair
One of the coolest facts? The Fair is where many Americans got their first look at things like the X-ray machine, the wireless telegraph, and even ice cream cones! 🍦 (Yes, seriously!)
If you’re even slightly into history, science, or just seeing how the world saw the future back in 1904 — this exhibit is a must-see.
