I had to help my mom with some stuff yesterday afternoon and run some errands, so Ally Ponticello came over to hang out with Mary Zeiser- Williams while I was gone. Ally told me Mary was asking her about me and how I was doing with everything going on. She is worried about me 💗
I can already tell with her being off the chemo meds her long term memory issues are getting better.

We have such awesome kids, the oldest has been reaching out to groups that send out care packages to cancer patients. Mary Zeiser- Williams has received so many goodies and such nice notes of love and encouragement. Here is the latest one we received. Thank you Ally Ponticello!!! ❤️💕😊 And of course Project Chemo Crochet THANK YOU!!! She’s already putting it to good use. We love their slogan too, “CANCERS A BITCH, THAT’S WHY WE STITCH!”

Had another video doc call with Mayo this morning just as a checkup to her treatments and also the trial she is on with them for memory and the Fitbit she is wearing for it. Went pretty good struggled a lil bit with memory tasks but then they got to math questions and Mary Zeiser- Williams says
“I don’t math!” 😝
Have a great weekend, we are doing family dinner and looking forward to that! 😊

Neuro reviewed Mary Zeiser- Williams case with oncology and they want to make sure that her brain ventricle shunt (drain) is functioning properly. There has been perhaps a slight increase in the size of the brain ventricles. There are many different possibilities as why this is the case. To rule out an issue with the shunt, they would like to get an x-ray of the shunt and also a test called a nuclear medicine shunt study where a tracer is injected into the shunt device and they can watch the tracer flow through the tubing to make sure there is no area of decreased flow.

If there is decreased or slow flow then the shunt may not be working optimally. If the flow is normal then the change in the size of the ventricles which again is quite subtle would be unrelated to the shunt.

So we are just waiting to get those procedures on the books.

Oncology said same thing as Neuro the MRI looks good and the Glio is shrinking BUT they want to test for a UTI with her worsening memory & confusion.
She'll get a lesser dose of chemo pills 1 week on 1 week off for a month because the last round made her nauseous. She will continue on with Avastin infusions every 4-5 weeks.

I just saw the test results and all looks normal to me, no UTI but I’ll wait for confirmation from doc before I start to get worried. 😦

DAMN it’s been a rough afternoon. She thought I was her ex again before heading out. And the whole car ride and now waiting for the doc she is just grilling me with questions about: us, the kids, her family, our friends and so much long term memory stuff she has forgotten. 😭 She’s getting teary eyed and making me sad too 😢

We get the official MRI results this afternoon at Mary Zeiser- Williams oncology appointment 🍀🤞🙏 And hopefully he gives us some insight on her continuing symptoms with memory & confusion. I’m guessing it’s just from the latest Glio growth destroying more tissue 😢

Mary Zeiser- Williams took her last chemo pill for this round 😊 last night. She’s been doing good at therapy BUT still a lot of confusion. Not in any pain just some nausea.
Hoping someday she will get her balance back so we can get her back out on the bike. I know she really loves it and misses it 😢

MRI went good, shunt check was good it’s still at a 2 no need to change. And at unofficial glance the growth from before looks to be shrinking but there is a little more brightness between skull and brain. Just need to wait for official review and oncology appt next week. Thank you for all the prayers and love it’s working. Keep it up!
