Back from an incredible few days in Costa Rica after attending the Motiva Preservé Breast Aesthetics course 🇨🇷

Grateful doesn’t fully capture it.

This weekend was about more than implants or technique—it was about collaboration with some of the world’s leading minds in breast aesthetics, sharing ideas, refining approaches, and pushing each other to be better for our patients.

There’s something powerful about being surrounded by surgeons who are all chasing the same goal: improving outcomes, restoring confidence, and advancing the science of breast surgery.

The hospitality was unmatched. The conversations were meaningful. And reconnecting with old friends while building new relationships made it even more special.

Now, it’s time to bring that energy, those insights, and that global perspective back home to the Midwest.

⭐️ Happy Mammoplasty Monday ⭐️

Not all Breast Augs are created equal and no single technique is the “ultimate” “best ever” “Uber” or “Buber?”

Dual plane:
✅ Also known as “half under the muscle” helps camouflage rippling of the implant and helps naturalize the look of an augmentation in those who are in shape with a thin pinch test and minimal soft tissue coverage. Many plastic surgeons debate whether this plane holds up best in the long term results and in preventing bottoming out however in patients needing a concurrent lift but choice not to pursue one may find a differential descent of breast tissue over and under the implant level over time.

Subfascial:
✅ Combines a level of implant support with also minimal upper pole camouflage for patients who want to combine minimal downtime with a more augmented look, depending on the implant choice and volume goals. Debate exists whether or not this is the best plane to also offer a breast lift at the same time as implant placement.

Subglandular:
✅ A typical option which allows for minimum downtime, can give a more rounded and augmented look which can help some patients get to these goals.

The Preserve Technique
✅ This technique offers the least amount of downtime as typically it is offered with local tumescent anesthesia only. By allowing for anatomy preserving techniques, even more minimal downtime is again possible.

Internal Bra:
✅ The use of absorbable mesh is being used more and more to help preserve the natural immediate results with implants over 400cc.

The Athletic Aug™️:
✅ ✅ ✅ Offered by Dr. Alleyne combines the naturalized upper pole such as the dual plane with a natural athletic-look that minimizes downtime like the subfascial and subglandular techniques.

🤔 Many patients have mentioned that they could have traveled together with other Athletic Aug™️ patients also getting this type of augmentation and then traveled together right after surgery back home.

This is never advised after any type of anesthesia (have a family member or friend stay with you) but likely it would be called BuberXShare
