πŸ‘» No ghosting here! At Community Living, everyone belongs and everyone is seen.

Let’s make all trick-or-treaters feel welcome tonight:
✨ Be patient - some people may need a little extra time and might feel overwhelmed by bright lights, decorations or noises.
✨ Be understanding - not everyone will say β€œtrick or treat” or make eye contact.
✨ Be kind - some may not wear a costume due to sensory sensitivities or be older than you expect.

Inclusion makes Halloween more fun for everyone πŸŽƒ Happy Halloween!

October has been all about celebrating inclusion in the workplace! πŸ’ΌπŸ’›

Our Employment Services team had the opportunity to join and present at several events for National Disability Employment Awareness Month and highlight how valuable inclusion is in our community and workplaces.

Community Living presented at the Cottleville - Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce luncheon with our friends at BCI (Boone Center Inc.), participating in a panel discussion about opportunity, inclusion, and accessibility. It was awesome to hear so many different persepectives.

We also joined the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board Driven to Succeed Employment Summit, where we continued the conversation about creating more inclusive employment opportunities for everyone.

It’s always inspiring to see so many community partners working together to make work accessible for all!

πŸš“πŸš’πŸš‘ Happy National First Responders Day!

Thank you to the incredible men and women who keep our communities safe every day!

The Wilson Center recently hosted a special event where our day hab centers were joined by amazing first responders from the St. Charles County Ambulance District, the O’Fallon Fire Department, and the St. Charles County Police Department!

Everyone had a great time exploring emergency vehicles, meeting first responders, and learning more about the important work they do.
