Scoop, there it is! Today felt like summer in the best way — an ice cream truck visit! It was an ice cream kind of day at McClay Senior Care, and our residents and staff had a blast beating the heat with their favorite flavors!🍦☀️

A sparkly little recap from this Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

This is how we celebrated the holiday at McClay Senior Care! Our amazing residents got creative with festive hats, patriotic bottles, and beautiful flower arrangements. Red, white, and blue were in full bloom — and so were the smiles! ❤️🤍💙

Success Story- Sandy

Please join me in congratulating Sandy on her successful therapy outcomes here at McClay Senior Care!

Sandy was admitted to McClay on 5/13/25 after extensive hospitalization and multiple surgeries for kidney stones, requiring 2 laser lithotripsy surgeries and a nephrostomy tube which subsequently became infected. She also had fluid on both of her lungs with partial lung collapse.

When Sandy first arrived here, she required maximum assistance to roll in the bed and sit up to the side of the bed where she could only sit for 10 seconds before needing to lay back down. She required a mechanical lift to get from the bed to a wheelchair and was totally dependent on staff for dressing, toileting and bathing tasks.

The dedicated therapists at McClay worked with her diligently to regain her independence, building rapport with her as she had a significant fear of falling and became very nervous with any movement. The therapists tailored their therapy interventions to meet her needs and identified that she had potential to regain strength. With their continued persistence and her internal drive and motivation, Sandy was able to make a full recovery!

Currently, Sandy is discharged from McClay and back home with her daughter. She can complete all her care independently and is standing and walking 100 feet with a walker!

We are so proud of how far Sandy has come and look forward to continued updates on her progress as she transitions home.

That’s a wrap on National Nursing Home Week!
🎬

Friday was our grand finale—“Lights, Camera, Action!”
Our amazing staff went all out in costume, bringing the fun to our residents!

We kicked off the morning with creative crafts and picture frame making, and closed the day with a cozy drive-in movie complete with a classic concession stand treat. 🍿🎞️

A big thank you to everyone who made this week so special—we celebrated, we laughed, we created memories. Here’s to our incredible residents and staff! 💙

McClay’s Music Hall of Fame was last Thursday. It was a hit at McClay as we celebrated our themed day with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments! We kicked things off with high energy thanks to a live performance from Sterling in the morning, setting the tone for a day full of rhythm and joy.

In the afternoon, the excitement continued as we handed out our very own McClay’s Karaoke Party tickets and hosted a lively event — McClay’s Melodies!

It was a day to remember, celebrating the power of music and the wonderful community we have here at McClay Senior Care! 🎤🎫 🎵

Last Wednesday, as part of National Nursing Home Week, we hosted our very own “McClay’s Oscars”. The day began with a fun game of Oscar Bingo, followed by a beautiful Golden Gala lunch, where staff and residents dressed up in ties and pearls to mark the occasion.
In the afternoon, we held our Oscars Ceremony to recognize and celebrate our residents.
We concluded the day with music and dancing, featuring a special performance by Lexie.

Next up for Nursing Home Week… Talent Tuesday! 🎤

Tuesday’s theme was McClay’s Got Talent, and it did NOT disappoint! We enjoyed an incredible staff talent show, complete with special guest judges and even a hula hooper who wowed the crowd! 🌟

Our residents had a blast cheering on their favorite acts and celebrating the amazing talents of our McClay team.

National Nursing Home Week was a hit at McClay Senior Care! From May 11th to 17th, we rolled out the red carpet with our McClay’s Oscars-themed celebration: Celebrating Our Legends

Happy Easter from McClay Senior Care! We had a wonderful Friday celebration featuring a special visit from the Easter Bunny, beautifully crafted Easter bonnets, a fun-filled egg hunt, and festive treats including an Easter Bunny cake and cake pops. Both our residents and staff truly enjoyed the day!🐰🐣
