Wondering if it could be perimenopause? 🌸

Perimenopause is the natural transition leading up to menopause, usually starting in your 40s, sometimes earlier- in your 30s! During this phase, fluctuating hormones can cause:

•Irregular periods
•Hot flashes & night sweats
•Mood changes or anxiety
•Sleep troubles
•Vaginal dryness or decreased libido
•Weight changes or thinning hair

Lifestyle changes, hormone therapy, and other treatments can help manage symptoms—and yes, pregnancy is still possible if you’re still having periods- even if they are irregular periods!

If symptoms are affecting your daily life, our WCS providers are here to help. Let’s talk about what’s going on and find the right approach for you.

To all the parents holding their rainbow babies in their arms — and those still holding them in their hearts — today we honor your journey, your strength, and the love that never fades. 💕

Rainbow Baby Day is about creating space for all your children, and that’s worth celebrating. 🌈

Every. Single. Day? - Seems a bit excessive.

We get it. Between work, family, to-do lists, and the endless laundry pile, adulting can feel like a full-time sport —AND it’s easy to forget about you.

This weekend, give yourself a break- order pizza or serve cereal as a perfectly acceptable dinner. Let the laundry wait one more day, read a book, and take a nap.

Remember one of the best ways to lighten the load is to take care of your health. Adulting comes with perks like wine nights, bubble baths, girls’ night, and dancing in the kitchen. We’re here to cheer you on, whether it’s your annual visit or just a little reminder that you matter too. Adulting isn’t just about getting through it- it’s about finding the fun in it.

Help a girl out… what’s your best adulting survival tip?

Let’s Talk About… That Part of the Exam No One Talks About 🍑

OK, we know - it’s not the highlight of your appointment. But if your OB/GYN has never mentioned doing a re**al exam or sending a stool sample for a f***l blood test here’s the deal:

Why it’s done:
*Checks for hidden blood in your stool, which can be an early sign of colore**al cancer, polyps, inflammation, or hemorrhoids.
*Allows your provider to feel the cul-de-sac - that’s the space between the re**um and uterus. Feeling this area can help detect ovarian masses or other concerns that might not be as easily felt during a regular pelvic exam.

At WCS we start these exams at age 40 - checking for f***l blood at age 45 or older if no recent colonoscopy. If there is family history or symptoms, it might be earlier. We know that many women see their OB/GYN more regularly than their primary doctor - so it’s a great opportunity to catch things early - and check for hidden issues ….above and below.

It’s quick, it’s important, and it’s all part of taking care of you.

Wrapping up World Breastfeeding Week….

Breastfeeding may be a solo act, but partners can play a big role—midnight snack runs, diaper duty, moral support, and more.

How does (or did) your partner help during breastfeeding?

Drop your favorite way they showed up in the comments.

“Motherhood is the exquisite inconvenience of being another person’s everything.”

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month, while breastfeeding may be natural it’s not always simple. We are here for you, to answer your questions, calm your fears, and offer advice on a plan that will best suit your needs.

This momma has the best advice. “Stop worrying. Stop comparing. Enjoy the view.”

What advice would share with other mommas?
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Enjoy the view

If you are like me, your breastfeeding journeys may all look very different. They may take you down roads with ni**le shields, severe reflux, and even dairy allergies. The trip is not an easy one- it’s like having a map, but no compass, a GPS that doesn’t speak your language, and feeling tired and even lost at every turn. While you navigate your way through nursing, just don’t forget to stop and enjoy the view.

Breastfeeding is heavy-literally-when your milk first comes in it is a sensation like no other. You’ll hear yourself wonder, “Do I wake him?” and “You JUST ate!” But your body will regulate- your baby will eat when they’re hungry. Just do a little shimmy and enjoy the view.

It’s returning to work with intentions to pump, but completely forgetting your fl**ge at home or failing to find time or privacy. Trying to sanitize your pump and shelf your milk in the company fridge without making it weird in the teachers’ lounge. Just breathe and enjoy the view.

It’s walking around Target, physically checking the functionality of buttons on every blouse, and then regretting wearing that adorable high neck maxi dress to the bbq where you try to literally fashion yourself as a circus tent and lose the baby in the folds of pink floral cotton while they latch on to everything but your b**b. Dig in to your (now) cold bbq and enjoy the view.

It’s trying to discreetly soothe your crying baby at the park, while your baby has other plans- grabs, kicks, and throws all of your modest intentions out the window. Laugh it off, and enjoy the view.

It’s hearing your baby has food allergies and kissing your beloved coffee creamer goodbye. Gagging on dairy free cheese and pouting for a week before conquering new recipes off Pinterest. You tell yourself you will breastfeed for a few more months and you’ll be lovingly reunited with a big slice of pizza. Until your baby shows no signs of weaning and you’re all of a sudden 17 months in- and now trying to convince your friends to switch to oatmilk. Cheers! Enjoy the view.

Breastfeeding is hard. It’s lonely. It’s exhausting. Its engorgement. It’s supplementing with formula. It’s obsessively counting the ounces in your stash. It’s listening to your pump serenade you with weird sounds. Its your favorite nursing bra faded, stretched, and pilled. It’s also an amazing adventure with a one way ticket to the trip of a lifetime that you can never book again. Babies grow. Milk dries up. But if every so often, you remind yourself to stop worrying about who is watching, stop comparing yourself to other mommas, stop counting down the seconds left on the pump session, just stop ——— You might be in the car, a closet, your office, a hospital bed, or on a park bench, a beach, a mountain, your couch, or perhaps buried under a pile of clean laundry, look down at your view, because it’s a beautiful one. Enjoy it.

August has arrived… and with it the return of early alarms, bulletin boards, and endless grading.

Need a reminder of just how real it gets? One teacher discovered a pair of underwear had fallen out of her pants leg—while in the classroom. We don’t know what kind of week that was.

So here’s to the educators juggling it all—lesson plans, lunch duty, and whatever surprises come your way. You are the definition of grace under pressure.

We see you. We support you. And we’re rooting for you this school year. (Maybe check your laundry basket first.)

Leave a comment of encouragement below to remind our teachers they’re not alone in the chaos. You never know who needs it today. ❤️

This. Every word. Being a mom doesn’t end—it just grows.

Back to school hits different when you’ve got college kids. The goodbyes are harder, the pride runs deeper, and the love? It never leaves.

🍎 🍎 🍎 🍎 🍎 🍎 🍎 🍎- It’s already August!!!
