🎓 A Very Special Win Wednesday (Graduation Edition) 🎓

Today we’re celebrating a milestone that perfectly captures why this work matters. One of our students recently graduated from ABS and successfully transitioned back to their school district—and a message from their family reminded us just how lasting this journey can be.

After his second day in his new school, this student came home proudly sharing that he had made friends and was settling in. At home, he insisted on keeping a chair he used while at ABS, bringing it into the living room and sitting in it for hours—even choosing to eat dinner there. When his parent asked why the chair was so important to him, he shared that he wanted to keep it so he could always remember all of his good memories from ABS.

His family reflected on how ABS became a place of safety, growth, and connection during a time when life felt overwhelming. What once felt uncertain became a future filled with independence, communication, and confidence.

Seeing students carry their successes—and their positive memories—into the next chapter of their lives is the greatest reward. We are incredibly proud of this student and honored to have been part of his journey. 💙

Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You will always be part of the ABS family.

✨ What’s Your Win Wednesday? (We Have More Than One!) ✨

After an unexpected four-day snow break, today was full of moments that reminded us why we love what we do. Our staff and students were so happy to see each other again, and that joy showed up in big and small ways throughout the day.

We saw students independently participating in group activities, initiating connection by asking a staff member to sit with them, and independently using their language to ask for hugs, high 5 and other social interactions. There were huge wins in patience too—students making big progress with waiting for lunch and calmly accepting indoor recess because of the snow. We also celebrated students using calming strategies on their own and showing growth in independent leisure skills!

Our students and staff have been working hard on these and many other goals and we are so excited to celebrate these wins! 💙

What’s your win this Wednesday?

Congratulations to our Clinic & Community Employee of the Month:

Abigail Raft

Abby is a BCBA that serves both our home insurance clients and students in our Therapeutic Education Center. She has done a great job learning the new responsibilities of her home insurance role as we recently changed systems and moved her to an insurance funded client. Abby put in the work to learn the system and understand the codes for billing. She asked questions when she got stuck and wanted to do things as best she could. She has done an amazing job of hitting her timelines while also maintaining her full-time caseload at the Center. Abby has great clinical ideas and is really growing her skills in the insurance program. We are so happy that Abby is on our team even if it is only as a part time bonus, we appreciate her!
