Back in 2019, I sat for Tea for the first time and I don’t say this lightly, but it cracked my heart wide open in ways I could not have expected. Bowl after bowl, breath after breath… something in me started softening, opening, remembering.
Fast forward a few years, a lot of healing, and probably a small ocean’s worth of Tea… and in 2023, I followed the nudge to deepen this path. I became a certified Cha Dao practitioner through Pillar of Light a place and lineage that lives so close to my heart.
This practice has held me through grief, joy, chaos, stillness, and everything in between. And now I get to serve Tea to hold space for others the way it was once held for me. That feels like the sweetest full-circle gift.
So what is a Tea ceremony, anyway?
It’s not fancy or fussy. It’s slow. Sacred. Simple. We sit together (usually in silence), breathe, and drink bowl after bowl of living Tea. Nothing to fix or figure out. Just presence. Just peace. Just Tea.
