Last night felt like one of those full-circle moments that makes you pause and smile at how beautifully unpredictable life can be.
Years ago I bought tickets to Reggae Rise Up simply because I loved the music and the energy of the festival. At the time, I had no idea that one day I would actually live here in Florida… just 15 minutes from the venue.
Last night one of my favorite bands, The Hip Abduction, played, and hearing them live was incredible. Their song Daydreamer has a lyric that has lived in my heart for years:
“Gonna just get lost in the wanderlust before I get caught by the timekeeper… gonna make the day when I can say that I ain’t just a daydreamer.”
Those words stayed with me so deeply that when I created my business, I named it Wanderlust Massage and Holistic Therapy after that feeling.
This festival weekend feels symbolic in so many ways. Reggae Rise Up marks the beginning of my story here in Florida — and it also reminds me how far that dream has come.
I took a huge leap.
I moved somewhere I had never been.
I built a business from an idea that once only lived in my imagination.
And now that dream is real. A thriving business, amazing clients, and a beautiful community of women and friends who have made Florida feel like home.
Last night I celebrated that moment surrounded by incredible music and amazing friends, and the festival continues all weekend. It reminded me that sometimes the best things in life begin with a simple daydream and the courage to follow it.
Turns out getting lost in the wanderlust was exactly the right path.
