It's difficult to overstate the damage that alcohol can inflict on your body.

Drinking has been linked with severe organ damage, several types of cancer, and a range of other life-threatening concerns.

Chronic, heavy drinking poses the greatest danger, but even moderate alcohol use can increase your risk.

What happens if a person's mental health symptoms prevent them from understanding that they need help?

In Florida, if an individual's symptoms are severe enough that failing to get treatment would pose a risk to themselves or others, they may be detained in an approved facility for up to three days for a psychiatric evaluation.
