Hana Dvorak LMT My practice is devoted to an integration of bodywork techniques specific to the individual.

I have been a Massage Therapist since 1989 and I specialize in providing Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork ~ releasing stress and bringing the body back into balance. ~ Stress Release ~
In our daily lives we accumulate and store stress in unique ways, each specific to our own psychological and physical makeup. Too often we do not allow ourselves the nurturing touch that heals the body, emotions and mind. In my massage practice I use a variety of techniques to reduce anxiety, depression and stress. By tuning into your body's unique expression, I apply a variety of techniques, including:

~ Swedish massage ~
a classical soft tissue massage that, by stretching the ligaments and tendons, flushes the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid and other metabolic wastes, inducing a deep sense of peace and relaxation.

~ Neuromuscular Massage ~
This is a form of therapeutic massage that applies concentrated finger pressure specifically to individual muscles. This is a very detailed approach, used to increase blood flow and to release trigger points, intense knots of muscle tension that refer pain to other parts of the body (they become trigger points when they seem to trigger a pain pattern). This form of massage helps to break the cycle of spasm and pain and is often used in pain control and spasticity release. Trigger point massage and myotherapy are varieties of neuromuscular massage.

~ Ayurvedic massage ~
a gentle massage that employs specific herbal oils, designed to loosen and separate toxins from the body's cells, creating a feeling of deep rejuvenation and relaxation.

~ Ortho-Bionomy ~
This approach uses gentle, relaxing movements and postures to help the body release tensions and muscular holding patterns. Its goal is a restoration of structural alignment and balance.

~ Aromatherapy ~
The use of individually chosen essential oils in combination with massage to enhance health and well-being and relieve stress.

~ Reflexology ~
This approach involves the manual stimulation of reflex points on the ears, hands, and feet. Similar methods resembling shiatsu and acupressure have also been practiced for thousands of years. Thumb pressure is applied to specific points that correspond somatotopically to specific areas or organs of the body. Reflexology was introduced to this country by William Fitzgerald, who termed it "zone therapy," in the early 1900s. One of the contemporary explanations for how it works is that compression by specific touch techniques affects a system of points and areas that are thought to "reflex" through neurological pathways to distant parts of the body. The pressure on these reflex points (also called "cuteneo-organ reflex points") is used to relieve stress and tension, to improve blood supply, to promote the unblocking of nerve impulses, and to help restore homeostasis or balance in the body.

~ Chakra balancing ~
Chakras are the seven subtle energy centers in the body which affect our equilibrium and inner harmony through which oneโ€™s life force energy flows. Recognized in ancient healing systems, blocked and congested chakras can affect the body and mind both emotionally and physically. Natural energies are stifled and the zest for life is lost or subdued. This full body massage incorporates energy work, reducing stress-related tension, and integrates deeper and more specific pressure on problem areas, facilitating an immediate sensation of well-being and relaxation.

~ Guided Imagery ~
works with the connection between the visual brain and the involuntary nervous system to promote relaxation and, in some cases, trigger healing. This guided meditative technique helps the client find images , right for him or her, that aid in stress reduction and promote relaxation during the massage session.

~ Hypnotherapy ~
โ€œWhat you think, that you become"
Modern research shows, that there is more scientific evidence for hypnotherapy than any other complementary therapy and it is a powerful tool for self-healing. My experiences have shown that constructive, long lasting change is achievable. This has made me passionate about guiding others towards positive life changes. I use Hypnotherapy and Guided Imagery to assist you in achieving the changes in your life that you wish to make, enabling you to move forward from problems and creating positive change in often short spaces of time.

~ Reiki ~
โ€œThe seal of truth is simplicityโ€. While the roots of Reiki reach far back into the ancient origins of natural healing, it has been rediscovered in modern times by the great Japanese scholar Dr. Mikao Usui, and is now well on the way to becoming a widely practiced form of folk medicine. The word Reiki means universal life energy and it is defined as being that power which acts and lives in all created matter. Reiki is healing energy in the truest sense of the word, leading to greater individual harmony and attunement to the basic forces of the universe. The Usui system of Reiki is an effective means of promoting health and well-being and distance Reiki can be send to anyone, anywhere and in my experience is equally effective.
